My dad needs an RD.
I wish you a career free of patients as much a pain in the butt as him. <insert obnoxious laughing smiley>

Yeah, he will be on dialysis at some point, later rather than sooner, knock on wood. But he also is on Pre-diabetic restrictions, high cholesterol, low potassium, and who knows what.
Right now he is sitting across the room eating a big bowl of ice cream with strawberries and chocolate sauce and drinking a severely unauthorized Coke that he bought himself (mom only buys diet).
Although, given his issues, my mom and I have decided that his diet must be working for him because he is staying level beyond dr expectations. Must be all the preservatives in Spam.
But, he has got to be hell as a patient. He won't listen to anyone!!! So, my good wishes definitely include no patients like him.

Super congratulations! You're totally where I want to be in like 4 years (or however long it takes to get there while I still have to work full time)!

What if you're like the Cesar Milan of RD's and you show those people that deep fry in olive oil on a skillet at a low temp who's boss?

Congrats, IJDI, for being able to parrot back what was taught to you about nutrition long enough to get your licensing. You can now stop biting your tongue and the urge to argue with the instructors and concentrate on the *real* nutrition that vegan diets offer!

You can now stop biting your tongue and the urge to argue with the instructors and concentrate on the *real* nutrition that vegan diets offer! Thanks, I guess. I really liked my program and none of my instructors ever said anything negative about vegan diets. We mostly just learned facts and also we learned about the best ways to help people. We had a great environmental nutrition class that focused on the problems with animal agriculture. Also, I most likely will not have a job where it's appropriate to push vegan diets. Of course, if someone wanted to know if a vegan diet was awesome and healthy, I would help them with it, but I'm not planning on going into private practice, so it probably won't come up often. I can take the facts that I learned about nutrients and apply them to any sort of diet.
