I decided to do a Morrissey themed one since I drove past a GIGANTIC billboard on the way to work saying that he was coming to town.
1. I once turned down a job touring with Morrissey in Europe. 2. I once dove off stage at a Morrissey concert to get involved in a knife fight. 3. I’m a huge Morrissey fan.

I'm intrigued by your Morrisseyness. And I wish Melisser were here bc she is a passionate fan.
I'm saying #3 is a lie. Sounds like you worked for M's tour though, which would be so cool.

I'm saying #3 is a lie. Sounds like you worked for M's tour though, which would be so cool. You are correct :) I’m not a huge fan, in fact I had never even heard of him before I worked his shows. None of us had, so we referred to him as "the dude who did the theme for Charmed". I explained the 2 truths, but it was long so I put it in a spoiler for those who don't want to read it lol. I used to work at a Casino he performed at 6 or 7 years ago. My city wasn’t even on his radar until he found out that Liberace used to frequent our showroom back in the day, so he added us to the tour. I got put in charge of security for the show. His fans certainly put the "fan" in fanatical. They bring him flowers and baked goods lol, and they climb on stage during the show to touch/hug him. At one point during the first show he took off his shirt and threw it into the crowd, people started fighting over it, one of them pulled out a knife, hence why I got to dive off of the stage and wrestle him to the ground. The other fans were so polite about it; they backed off and gave me plenty of room, then made a path to the door once I got him in custody lol...
The next day I was backstage making sure everything was ready for the second show. I was standing near a table filled with flowers that fans had brought for him. He walked up and thanked me for intervening in the fight and said that he would have been devastated if one of his fans had been hurt. He asked me which bouquet I liked the most, I pointed to a beautiful bouquet of tropical flowers, he told me to take them and give them to my mother with his regards. It was certainly a memorable experience. Especially going to my mother's that night and telling her that a Rockstar gave her flowers haha.
That night after the show his guy in charge of show security (He had one personal bodyguard and one guy who coordinates show security) approached me and told me that they were impressed with how well I had handled everything with the show and offered me a job, basically being his assistant for the European leg of the tour. I had 5 minutes to decide, I either had to get on the bus and leave with them or not.... I chose not. Sometimes I wish I had gone, but you can’t live in the past lol.

Okay, that is so cool! Thanks for sharing your awesome story!
I'll try not to muff this one. 1. I have sat in Buddha's lap 2. I have slept in a Mayan temple and watched the light come up over the jungle 3. I have broken into a convent.

First I need to know how you're defining Buddha. Who or what counts as Buddha? I mean, I once got my face licked by Buddha...then we took him for a walk and picked his poop up in a baggie...

SpiceMiner wrote: Monkeytoes #1 You are correct. I have been escorted around the White House by the Secret Service because that's who conducts the tours. And one of the friends I was with got nauseous and they were worried that he would barf all over some tapestry that was a gift from France 200 years ago, so the Secret Service did escort him outside for some fresh air. choirqueer wrote: monkeytoes wrote: Tofulish wrote: Mtoes, I suck at this and yours is awesome.. I say 2 is a lie. Nope, 2 is true. OK, so he only called me that twice, but on separate occasions so it totally counts. So who was it? You have to tell us! My sister and I used to go to a lot of Everclear shows and we'd talk to Art Alexakis before or after shows, pissing off all the 15 year old girls who would line up for autographs because we'd just be chatting about mundane stuff like where his sister lives in relation to the high school that we both went to (8 years apart, I graduated, not sure if he did!)

I'll guess that Tofulish's #... 2 is a lie. (Sorta hoping 3 is a truth!)

Tofulish's number 2... hmm... a lie.
My turn! 1: My family tree, as written, eventually contains nordic gods and giants. 2: I accidentally acquired a blunderbuss (it was locked inside a chest/box we deliberately acquired). 3: I once cheated my way into the Vatican.

1 Boy George once gave me a Guinness and his Chanel scarf after a concert. 2 Green is my least favorite color. I really don't like it at all. 3 I've read Anna Karenina in Russian.

Yeah, I don't believe your #2, lw.
1) I have run a presumptive test for blood on a piece of evidence from a murder case, and it was positive. 2) I have summited two of Colorado's fourteeners. 3) I once gave my phone number to one of the Motor City Bad Boys but he lost it.

Number 2 is true. My car is green and I hate it. I wanted a pineapple conure. But got stuck with Molly instead because she picked me.
I think your #3 is a lie, mtoes.

I'm pretty sure at least part of the Boy George one is true, so I'm going with #3. Gulliver's is hard. Even though gods and giants aren't real, I somehow believe #1. Going with #3 as my guess.

Oh, and my #3 is totally true. Met him in a swanky wine bar, he liked my butt and we talked about Raiders football.

Yes, Molly is green; I manage to love her anyway. But I tend to think of her as just "Molly" and not "argh! Green" so it works out well. I do not wear green for St. Patrick's day.
All of #1 is true!
#3 is the lie. Best I've managed in Russian is an issue of Cosmo.

Ok, so number 1 isn't true, mtoes.
(I threaten to dye Molly purple on a weekly basis. It would be really easy: I'd just have to leave a tempting bowl of icy grape Kool-Aid somewhere and wait for her to take a bath)

Number 1 is also true. The case was closed at the time, but it was a real piece of evidence from a real murder case with real blood on it (not the victim's, as it happens.) However, I have never come anywhere close to climbing a mountain!

You better get busy then, mtoes!
I've climbed mountains! Yes, believe it or not, I have photographic proof of me hanging onto the crosses at the top of most of the Bavarian Alps. I've also climbed Mt. Charleston in Nevada.
I've never gone bungee jumping.

I have slept in a Mayan temple (Tikal- bribed the guards to let us sleep in the park after dark) and broken into a convent (ruins in Anguila). But I haven't ever sat on a Buddha bc that is considered very disrespectful. You're not even supposed to take pictures near them that show their actual size, according to what we heard in Sri Lanka. So #1 is a lie :)
