Has anybody done an altruistic kidney donation before? Basically a kidney donation to a stranger.

I'm trying to figure out if there are certain diet requirements, which would be a logical question for a vegan forum.

I just want to help somebody.

(In the US, altruistic organ donations are allowed, you just can't sell your organs, not that I would want to sell anything)

And yes, I know. It's probably not going to be anytime soon, because I *know* I would get an "uh-huh" and fail the psych evaluation at the moment because of grief. Anything that is a huge decision though I like to research thoroughly and make sure I understand it well.
