I start my job as a dietitian at a long term care facility tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous and excited.

I am a librarian at a public library. Right now, I'm in circulation but I've been a youth services librarian and a reference librarian. In my spare time I answer "what should I read next" questions on Facebook.

I'm currently funemployed and an occasional freelance writer, but I used to work as a travel agent. I also have a couple of totally useless degrees. New career suggestions are welcome.

I'm still doing the same thing I was doing last time I posted in this thread (compliance manager at a mortgage lender), but I want out!! My job has driven me into depression and it sucks. Problem is, I have no idea what I want to do. My degree is in English, so that's useless.

That's good advice! Thank you! Confidence is very hard for me, but I know I gotta fake it to make it.

I'm still in the same field, but I have a new job (in addition to my old job).
I still work at a large courthouse law library, but I am now also at a university law library. I am a reference/research specialist. In additional to providing reference services to students, faculty and other library users, I also create research/study guides and work on special projects. Hopefully, next semester, I will begin lecturing in the 1st year legal research course.

Full-time student here. I'm doing a bachelor of science honours (slash masters slash phd, depending on where my career goals shift as I work through the course) in animal sciences.

This time of year I'm answering questions @ the Visitor Center and doing programs in schools.
Over the summer I lead hikes and educational programs and do campfire programs, as well as answer questions in visitor centers. Sometimes I even get to just hike and see if anyone has questions.
This year is possibly going to have a lot less fun stuff though, funding stuffs. I had this job for one year and it was amazing. I was insane to leave it. When you can do everything from work in a visitor center to give presentations to kids about bear safety to guiding hikes and constantly education yourself on the park...that is a sweet job. Silly early twenties wanderlust and it being impossible to get back in the Parks Canada sector. I've also never since been paid so well.

I started a new job back in January, so now I work on Australia's food security policies for remote Indigenous communities. Lots of long-term work about nutrition and governance but also responsive stuff, like when the generator powering the only store fails in some tiny community ten hours from anywhere and they need food out there today. It's super interesting and I like it a lot!

I am an archivist, with a side of information and instruction librarian. I am very, very happy with my job! I have also been a history professor, unpaid intern, and a reference librarian in a public library.

I'm an IT Manager at a local chain of Co-Op Grocery stores (only 3 stores, so not sure if that qualifies as 'The Man' yet).

I'm a rabbi. I used to work as a chaplain in hospitals and assisted living facilities, but now I work for a synagogue and I'm likely to continue in this kind of work for awhile. My dream about my career when I started rabbinical school was to work half-time as a hospital or residential community chaplain and half teaching and/or writing, but my current work is varied enough that I feel pretty good about it most of the time and pays better anyway.
In my previous career I taught math and science, with a focus on education for children with special needs and gifted children and that was a blast. Occasionally I miss it.
