i have been making my master plan for awesomeness!!
it involves- recovering my lost japanese actively working on my accent running a race this year and possibly joining a singing group, i'm not sure i can fully commit to that one, but i'd love to and maybe, just maybe, adding another passport to my life. i still haven't committed to that one either.

My goal this year is to be kinder to the human variety of animal. I pretty much got the compassion towards animals down pretty well but I think I fall into the category of “vegans who like animals better than people.” Im NOT mean to people by any means whatsoever im just insanely socially inept and prefer just not to speak to people whom I don’t know. I think maybe I should try to come out of my hermit shell a little bit in 2013. Not sure if ill succeed but it’s a fine idea.
i think if i can do that a little i will be more awesome Meeting other awesome PPKers is a great way to come out of your hermit shell! We have lots of 'em near Boston if you don't mind a drive. i bet that would be really fun if i ever choked down an anxiety attack and left my hermit crab shell. the drive into Boston usually puts me off. im famous for flaking out on concerts im supposed to go to. it's like a 45 min drive for me which isnt horrible but then parking, etc. bleh.

Last year I resolved to do more cartwheels than I had the year before. That was easy because I had only done two the year before. I'm not sure how many cartwheels I did this year, I think maybe about 6, so I'm once again going to resolve to do more cartwheels this year than I did last year. Will doing more cartwheels make me more awesome?

I'm going to try to stay positive at all times, and to not let things get to me. Also to be more helpful in general, and cut out the sarcasm. It's not appreciated by a lot of people, apparently.

I'm hoping to develop superpowers in 2013, so I'll be exposing myself to lots of radiation, toxic waste, and spiders.
Like, flashing my penis at them. I think that's how it works.
Anyway, I'll either have superpowers by 2014, or I'll be just riddled with juicy tumors.

For the last couple months I've been slowly getting back into yoga, mostly restorative, and the last couple weeks I have been doing it every single day. It's been really helping my anxiety and moods so my goal is to keep it up for the new year.
I really like the 12 nonfiction books idea too! Maybe we do a challenge thread to share what we learn.

I'd like to get back into blogging, exercising more (and incorporating some yoga into it), and learn to knit something.

Maybe my new years resolution should be to at least try a cartwheel. I have medical insurance.

My cartwheels will first consist of me planting my hands on the ground and flinging my legs into the air one at a time in an ungainly and haphazard manner but with practice, they will get better!

I don't think it's the quality of the cartwheels that counts; although, I'm no expert. I do think it's good that you have medical insurance.

Can we have a cartwheel skill-sharing thread? I need a teacher. My resolution is hereby to do one cartwheel.
I also love the nonfiction book idea, I would love to try that. My other resolutions are to get tattooed more, get into regular hiking since we're planning on going to Peru at the end of the year and I don't want my fitness (or lack thereof) to interfere with a good time, and to manage my uni-related time better so that I'm not always stressing at the last minute and being a bisque to everyone.

I am going to get my back garden sorted because it is constantly a mud bath and it is destroying my house. Once that is sorted I can get back to prettifying my house.
My biggest aim is to be off all my anti-depressants by the end of the year.
.......And try not add to any of the love bites on my car.

I'm going to start an awesome job and become awesome at it.
I also need to remember the lessons I learned being bullied at work and make sure I treat people with gentle kindness until the situation demands less pleasant behavior. I think this will increase my awesomeness quotient (and does not preclude my awesome snark and sarcasm with the appropriate audience).

Yes, the year of awesome. I'm working on getting healthier - I'm getting some long-needed dental work done, I'm going to do more yoga, get outside more. Be more joyful. See joy in the little things, and spread kindness. Worry less about money.
And definitely get some cartwheels in there.

I agree on both counts, and I love how many people want to do cartwheels! It was a "can you do a cartwheel" thread posted around this time last year that made me realize it had been years since I'd tried. So I went outside and did a couple, and then resolved to do more in the upcoming year. I like the nonfiction book idea too, but how are you picking subjects you know nothing about? I'd love it if there were a thread for people who want to do this to share ideas!
