I forgot about humblebrag! I don't know if it's the word I hate more, or just the whole concept.

Explainabrag is way better.

And I super-love that 'omnishambles' was named word of the year by the OED. we've been using it on a daily basis at work.

Can I add paedophile and terrorist to the list? I'm so forking sick of seeing and hearing them.

I'm sick of the media (and most people, who consume the media) calling everybody who sexually assaults an under-age person a paedophile. First, they don't distinguish between a paedophile, a hebephile, and an ephebephile. Second, it labels people who only feel attracted to persons of certain age as criminals. Many paedophiles never touch a child. So, yes, I'm sick of that word.

Another one: cleanse. I hate how it sounds. Or, perhaps, quacks make it sound so bad.

FML. The first time I saw this I thought someone was talking about the Family and Medical Leave Act.

I was enjoying reading the list until I got to the legitimate rape bit.

Yes. I have never understood it.

I hate to say this word gets in my head sometimes. I hate it, but it's sticky, and I've totally said it. Argh.

I like amazeballs. And I was using awesomesauce before it was cool.

I just want to talk like Malcolm Tucker all the time. (Also, this summer Peter Capaldi was outside the place I was working at then, and I was too shy to go tell him how much I adore him and now I hate myself. OH and I served Peter Mannion and didn't start screaming and giggling!)

I don't have an issue with webinar. I mean I understand its cheesy but it is 1 word that describes something pretty well.

Jelly.

I kind of love cray and yolo and jelly. But I hate hashtags on facebook and real conversations. Particularly when there are like 5 hashtags in one FB post. One here and there is fine and has the potential to be funny, but hashtagging everything sucks the funniness out. Also, smh and fml are used all the time for things that aren't that serious. And "that awkward moment" annoys me as well, but I'll let it go if it's a moment that's actually awkward. most of the time it's not even that awkward.

Me neither. I just don't get it. It confuses me to the point that I frustratedly shouted, in a public place, "I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE BALLS!". And, I really don't...

I think the point of the word is that it does not make sense, and is pretty stupid. That's why I like it.

I actually like using slang/words from a few years ago. I was at a party on Friday and used the word "psych!" and someone did a double take. It was pretty funny.

I also have a couple of friends, whenever we are on the phone we answer with that annoying "what's aaaaaaaaaup" with your tongue hanging out. From those commercials like 10 years ago. Yeah, I still do it.

Yes. I am annoying. But hilarious. Hilarious to me anyway. I constantly get the dissaproving looks with the head shake and secret smile from my partner.

I've not heard a lot of those words, either, but my friend has a drinking game suggestion: turn on NPR and drink something every time the word "fiscal cliff" is said.
