Nowhere near that awesome.

But, I have champagne now! Nobody bought any because they thought we didn't need any. This was distressing since I hate NYE, find it abysmally depressing, it has bad memories for me, and the only good thing is champagne once a year. So I went to Giant, and they had nice stuff way on sale, so I got a $64 bottle of Cliquot for $30.

Oh crepe. Champagne is vegan, right? Fork. I didn't think to check.

*huge sigh of relief* barnivore says vegan. Yay, don't have to rush back out to switch.

I'm sick! So woooo!

I've never been much of a new years eve partier though.

At least you can go get booze at the last minute. We have to buy it from the state store, and no way they'll have the state store open at night on New Year's Eve.

Only beer and wine. But yeah, PA is beyond weird with the alcohol sales laws.

Actually booze would be more convenient because the little state store has a branch out here in the middle of nowhere next to the gas station. Nearest decent grocery store is 11 miles past that.

I really, really, really do hate NYE though. It makes me want to throw up.

As a family, we used to do stuff like puzzles or board games, but past 5-6 years, parents only watch tv ever, and it's not like I can come up with things to do on my own. So, plan is to put up with the TV (I am so sick of news channels) until midnight then go drink champagne and play Civ V.

I have been waiting on a cable repair all day. He came in the morning then it went out again. supposedly he's coming back.
Now I feel guilty. I'd offer him champagne but there's probably some rule. Also I rearranged the cupboards, cause I am awesome like that.

We played scrabble, ate cake, drank water & made a dinosaur finger puppet!

He probably gets double or triple time if its extra hours. If it isn't and it's regular shift for him, he'd be somewhere else anyway. Cookies or coffee if you have them might be nice.

I worked, now I'm watching TV and falling asleep, then I have to be to work again tomorrow. But I do love this for the cat gif.

eta: I might get a little crazy and have some tea. SO ADVENTUROUS!

We stayed in, watched DVD's, had takeout and wine, switched over to the TV for fireworks at midnight (and I have to say the London fireworks looked forking amazing even on my tiny television). All in all a most excellent NYE.

I am ordering pizza (pizza!! I haven't been able to eat pizza in about 7 months!) and watching movies and, if I go wild, painting my nails. This is a pretty perfect New Years for me. It'll be a midnight.

Wow, I completely forgot there would be fireworks tonight. I feel like I've hit a point in my life where holidays just don't feel like holidays anymore. All days feel the same to me now.

I'm with LW on finding NYE the most depressing of holidays. But tonight has been as good as NYE gets for me, we made a beautiful tagine from Vegan Eats World, drew pictures about 2012 (lifted the idea from Amey's thread), and went out for a walk and saw fireworks. I'm ready for pajamas now.

my night has consisted of being curled up on the couch with the pups, gchatting with Mr.Shankly and watching Sons of Anarchy on netfliz. I was supposed to go out with ndpittman to meet up with Pi and her bf for dancing but sadly, nd and I are both sick.

We were gonna go out, but bf and I both simultaneously decided we were lazy and cold and it would be more fun to stay in instead. So we went and bought beer and wine, he drank one beer, and I'm working on wine and probably beer later, and fielding texts and calls from partying friends.

I'm not a huge NYE fan either. Before I got married, I could've counted the good NYEs I'd had on one hand. Luckily, we have a friend who just wanted a quiet night of B movies, so we went round there. It was nice. We turned on the BBC to watch a bit of the Hogmanay show and listen to Auld Lang Syne at midnight, then went out to watch the fireworks (though there were only 2 hills instead of 7 because, apparently, it's about £1m per hill and the Council couldn't afford the other 5 this year). And then we came home and had black eyed pea and cabbage puff pastry parcels (which I'd made and taken to our friend's house so that we could eat them there and completely forgot). It was a good night.

VFR and I are getting wild and crazy and chugging water instead of beer. We know how to party into the new year.

I had an Amy's pot pie, hubby had a burrito, and I made a batch of carrot-raisin muffins. We'll probably be in bed before midnight.

Oh, and we both had a latte from the local coffee shop earlier tonight.

Add a few more cats and it's pretty accurate. I drank a little champagne (okay - 3 glasses), which I suppose is sad since I'm home alone, but I wanted to not give a crepe about anything for at least half-an-hour.

I always have a boring new year's eve at home. I used to watch the times square celebration every year. If people asked what my plans were, I would tell them I was spending new year's eve with Dick Clark. I don't know what I'm going to do this year, because I'll be damned if I spend new year's with Ryan Seacrest.
