So he got bucket o' pasta & veggies. Been there, dude. Been there. Actually catching up on this thread I'm a little embarrassed because my wedding meal was quinoa in a tomato. At the time I thought it was hilariously clever. "We're having beef steak...TOMATOES"

Black radish chips sounds interesting. Every time I bought black radishes, I threw them away because of the offensive smell :(

At least he got freshly made spinach pasta. But, if Bill Clinton can't get good grub, we are all screwed.

Just to be clear -- this was at some event in Sacramento, not the inaugural.
Also...I see this Sacramento chef couldn't get it together to make a vegan dessert. Shame on him.

I guess he could have loaded up on the crostini with white bean spread to get some extra protein. But then he would have had to fight his staff over them.

the chef even said he loved that cooking vegan would be a great challenge for him as a chef and then kinda failed. im sure it was super tasty pasta primavera but it was pasta primavera and no dessert! although maybe he didnt want a dessert since he is mainly vegan for health reasons and his heart? fruit cup it is! this is sort of related but i FINALLY watch An Inconvient Truth the other day (you know 7ish years late) and it made me think about Al Gore's diet because ive never heard of him talking about veganism or vegetarianism as good for the planet but he seems to hit every other key point. the only recent thing i could find is he requested a vegan, oil free, nut free meal for some event he was going to. http://vegnews.com/articles/page.do?pageId=5441&catId=8im not sure i understand the nut free thing??? does he have a nut allergy or do the oil-free peeps think nuts are the devil too? come on Al!! come to the vegan side!! we want you on our team!!

A vegan bakery in Orlando posted this on FB: Quote: Wow, do we have a story for you or what!
Last night after we closed as we were tidying up the bakery for today we got a call asking if we were still open and what all we had that was vegan. We of course apologized and explained that we were closed, would be open today at 11 AM and that everything we had was vegan. They then told us that they were an assistant for former President Bill Clinton and that he was here in Orlando and they were desperately trying to find some food (he's vegan if you didn't know)! Obviously we found ourselves questioning if it was a prank or someone just really desperate to get something from us but we boxed up some cupcakes and took them to the executive airport (after accidentally locking the keys in the car, whoops!) anyway just in case they were legit. As it turns out, the call was for real and they called today to say that they loved our cupcakes! As you can imagine we're pretty excited about this!
You heard it here, Raphsodic is POTUS approved! ;)

I was too scared to taste it. I grated it, tasted a bit, salted it, left it for half an hour and threw it away because it was too stinky. I can eat daikon quick pickles, even raw daikon with a miso-mustard dressing, but black radish was too much. I should try frying it though. Is there any food that doesn't taste good when fried?

I think it sounds tasty but it also sounds like a chef who's going for the obvious and has no real experience with vegan cooking. I'm glad he's trying though. I will say I think my friends will be feasting better on my grub this weekend when I serve them at my dinner party.

So, I mean, is it *just* former presidents that get places opened just for them? 'Cause I'm the treasurer of my book club. And I could maybe run for, like, school board or something. (I'd do a terrible job, but I'm pretty sure they're broke anyway, so how much worse could it get?)

So what is wrong with pasta primavera? I mean, I'm not the biggest pasta fan but it doesn't sound bad?
