And I talked to my mother today who first told me about how she took my stepfather to a BBQ place and he had a huge portion of ribs along with some sides. Then my stepfather saw that this guy died in the news and he told my mother that he had no interest in going to the heart attack grill (he was initially interested). I don't know what kind of disconnect he had in his brain that wouldn't associate his recent restaurant trip with similar calories, cholesterol, saturated fat, etc as someone who might eat at a place called the heart attack grill.

It's heard to read that "He lived, ate and breathed the Heart Attack Grill." and not draw the conclusion that maybe despite his genetics is heart attack could have been prevented, or delayed a few years, had he elected to eat better.
There tons of legitimate medical studies that link poor diet to the cause of numerous health problems. I think dismissing that because some people are the exception to the rule and genetically predisposed to get or not get something is sheer idiocy. You don't know what genes you inherited or didn't inherit until you have the medical condition, or die from something else. May as well play it safe and eat right, at least if you still lose out in the health department it's not for lack of trying.
