Okay, I have to stop but Paleo Huntress is...an ex vegan!

I started to read them but then realized there aren't enough green smoothies in the world to cure my resultant not-hating-people deficiency.

But...they are talking about cow sex! How can you not want to read that?

You couldn't pay me to attempt to read those comments. As entertaining as you guys make them sound, I'm pretty sure I would stay up all night, full if angry.

Honestly, with this I kind of wish that people would just say "Yeah, I fancied eating eggs again"

Rather than this mystic bullshiitake:

And I agree with everyone who questioned her co-option of "coming out", it's like me as a white man using the language of emancipation to talk about choosing a new dry cleaner.

I agree with all of this. I know plenty of ex vegetarians/vegans and I can respect that they're at least honest about it.

No kidding! WAY too much time on her hands, drinking her own kool-aid.

Now that? Is a stunning surprise. I'm assuming the term "huntress" refers to her relentless quest for sustenance (and bargains!) in the primeval aisles of the nearest supermarket.

The best part is that she signs her comments "Huntress"...as in that's actually what she goes around calling herself.

Her "I take one life, you take thousands by eating vegetables from farms where rodents are killed" is fair enough. If she only eats pasture-raised meat and grows her own vegetables. I mean there's 0% chance that she does, but still.

It's just annoying because she (or the idealized meat eater she portrays on the internet) serves as like a moral shield for everyone who eats meat.

Oh and I never knew that paleos hated beans, too. I only knew about grains. I guess that demonizing the best plant-based sources of protein is an important part of getting people on the meat-is-good bandwagon.

In an ironic way, I feel like this perception of veganism being equal to a cure-all sets you up for five years later reversing your claim and following in Alex's footsteps.

I feel similarly to the sentiment of 'who cares' but at the same time, don't really understand why so many people would care to the reverse, either, i.e. lend their support in a meat-affirming rather than personally affirming way. I even understand fearing of being ostracized, but if they're your former community and not already your good friends (and I'd say this to anyone in any circumstance) who gives a shiitake.

I too am RIDICULOUSLY tempted to read the comments.

That one makes me so sick, because she is saying that veganism isn't appropriate for toddlers. And that plays on any vegan parent's fears of not doing the best for their children.

All right, I've read it and it reminded me why I wasn't able to even follow her on Twitter.

Unfortunately, strict vegetarianism (the diet aspect of veganism) attracts people susceptible to woo. They write a few cookbooks, switch to another woo, and so on. ATM, paleo is the most popular woo. In 10 years it will be something else.

Ok, so on board with this breatharian thing. Screw the PPK and your everything killing ways! I'm gonna stare down some sun! HEALTH!
