Ginny Messina posted this link on facebook. i shall not tell a lie i didnt read it all cause it's really long but if you scroll down it's people who have been vegans for decades. some of them like 40 years.

apparently we are all not to die from lack of nutrients ANY TIME SOON!

also im calling BS on some of these peoples' ages! the woman who has been vegan from birth and claims that's been 40 years does not look 40! these people all look way younger than they claim!

go long term vegans! you shall inspire me past my measly 2 years! <3

I'm in there! Old Skool rules! But I am not the vegan from birth. I'm pretty sure that there are some other PPKers on there, too, but I don't know who.

I did not have the patience to read that blog -- something that long really needs more line breaks, bolding, and editing. It seemed like a raw content dump, destined to live on the internet forever.

I think that's just a really weird picture of her-- in other pictures her skin looks darker, too.

Not exactly a PPKer, but Gabriel Figueroa is the partner (in both senses of the word) of PPKer Jessica. They run Rabbit Food Grocery together.

Yes, it's just like that. Also reminiscing about the days before Vegenaise. Also being glad that the time when a lot of animal rights activists were vegetarian is long gone.

At this point I have been vegan for more than half my life, and it only gets better as the years go by. I am so glad that there are so many more vegans now and so much more awareness. I am extremely grateful for vegan forums like PPK and the old Vegan Represent (RIP) for helping educate new vegans.

Yes, I love Old Skool Vegans! Kittee has been vegan for more than half her life now.

My husband is 31 and has been vegan since he was 15.

I'm one of those born-this-way vegans, so I guess my nearly 21 years of existence put me in the ranks of the old skoolers. I definitely remember when Tofutti was the only vegan ice cream available, and I'm pretty sure that as a munchkin one of my sandbox toys was an old Tofutti tub that was significantly larger than a quart. Like, it had a handle and everything.
I also remember when the Seventh-Day Adventist book/food stores were the only places that meat and dairy substitutes were sold.

I've been vegan for ten years! But I think the fact that I look younger is just because I'm short.

usually we are the oldest people there but look like we fit in with the college kids

though i dont get carded much anymore so maybe ive aged :-O must be the veganness ;-)

i've always looked younger too. (and count me in as having been at least veg half my life. i was aaaaaaaalmost vegan between 1997 and 2002, but would eat my family's non-vegan baked goods during our many get-togethers, but other than that, vegan.)

This was hard to read for the aforementioned stylistic reasons, but oh man, so inspiring!

I was really hoping there wouldn't be a "I never go to doctors or take medicine" line in there, ugh.

I haven't read the whole thing yet either, but I think I will eventually. I really liked the medical doctor near the top who said it was in line with his pledge to "do no harm" - that's how I feel too! As nurses, we don't have the same oath, but the overall aim of my education and future profession is to reduce suffering.
