Here's mine:

This building (from Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" video) is less than a tenth of a mile from my house.

this is the closest i come to a claim to fame.
this cruise was also my honeymoon (no im not the one who murdered her husband)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2151354/George-Smith-FBI-close-catching-allegedly-threw-groom-overboard-honeymoon-cruise.html

we almost met this couple. they had a "newlyweds meet n greet" type thing for all the newlyweds on board (there were a bunch of us) but for some reason they had us as celebrating our 1st anniversary so we didnt get the invite (not sure we would have gone being antisocial)

i think the wife did it. not herself but she hired the Russians who did it.
the whole theory of the 2 Russians they elude to in the article is not new i remember hearing about them like a day or so after it happened while we were still all on the cruise (pro murder mystery tip, the bartenders have all the gossip)

so my "claim to fame" is that several media outlets kept contacting me for awhile trying to get us to "talk about our experience" which just seemed yicky and gross to me since we didnt know them, never met them, didnt see anything, etc. so i said no. i do still have my letter from the FBI asking if i had any info to come forward.

Justin Bieber was born in the same hospital I was born in.

I know. It's really exciting.

Oh, and my father-in-law is cousins with the woman in this band.

I cheat because I went to school in California so many places I grew up near, went to school, etc were featured in movies and tv shows including the front of my dorm was featured in a popular tv show while I was living in the dorm. The most exciting one for me was before I was born, (Conquest of) Planet of the Apes was filmed at the college I graduated at and an area of the school where many of my classes were at as well as one of my favorite lunch spots.

(yes, it looks prisonesque, doesn't i?)

I totally have a picture of my youngest brother in law and I with some of the Degrassi- The New Class cast members and Drake. It was before he was Drake, but still.

Aziz Ansari and I have the same birthday. I know, everyone shares a birthday with someone famous. But not someone that awesome.

In before solipsistnation... He's going to post about the time he peed next to Neil Gaiman.

Oh, and Rachel McAdams and I are from the same small town and I totally know people who know her. And she dated Ryan Gosling, so it's like I dated Ryan Gosling. Right?

Ben Affleck interviewed for a job in a conference room in my office in the movie The Company Men.

One time I saw Katie Holmes bringing Suri into one of those temporary Halloween iParty stores.

Another time I saw Titus Welliver waiting in line to buy tickets or snacks or something at the movies.

there is also really no good famous Lisa's

Lisa Kudrow is probably the most famous
Lisa Bonet???
Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam????

clearly i am destined to become famous and fill the famous Lisa void

Like linanil, I grew up in Southern California, so it's sort of cheating. I lived on what had been MGM backlots before they started shooting films on location; my condo complex was called Tara Hill because Gone With the Wind had been filmed on that lot and the complex next door had remnants of the yellow brick road (sort of... all the yellow tiles had been taken years ago, but the red ones that spiraled with the yellow ones at the very start of the road were still there.)

ooh oooh i just thought of one!!

my friend is the daughter of someone referenced in the movie American Graffiti.

Marilyn Gainer?
supposedly there is a spot in that movie where they mention the name Marilyn Gainer and that was a reference to my friend's mom i guess.

not sure the entire story.

I've been in Kurt Cobain's house! (After his death. My boss at the time bought it from Courtney Love.)

my dog played with Alec Baldwin's dog, so really it's Zane who's almost famous

also, I'm related to a saint (by marriage - my uncle is her great grand nephew or some such)

My uncle (I think he's not technically an uncle but he is related to me) had a fling with Joan Baez at Quaker camp.

The guy who wrote "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo" lives in my town. His daughter made me a burrito.

Also (this one is way better) Harrison Ford has been spotted at the same liquor store my dad goes to, apparently his mother lives nearby. I went into that store one time, so we're basically BFFs at this point.
