My university has been circulating this link as a "fun" spring activity. (Right.......) Apparently there are a lot of chronobiologists here? Or a lot of people who are curious about using light to change their sleep habits. Anyway, it (unsurprisingly) told me that I'm an extreme early type, of which there are very few in the world. You?

Oh yeah? How early is that? Pretty much, my dream days are waking up an hour or two before sunrise, having had a great night's sleep. (So no alarms, or anything like that.)

Another survey that won't accept responses if you're not male or female. *sigh*

I am "slight early type" - the third tallest bar. Dammit, I'm so typical.

I can't do anything at work without entering m or f for students. The federal government won't let the school do anything without this data. Until the federal government climbs out of the stone age, not much else will change because they hold the funding based on these gazillion forms and surveys.

I am shocked, shocked, I tell you, that they have me pegged as an extreme late night type.

Sort of surprised to find that I'm also "extreme early". I guess because I do get up early (even though I also usually stay up late).

Yeah. That binary choice is old, but the EU is even more behind the US in this regard, and this particular survey is from an EU consortium (i.e. bureaucracy at its best) so I think it falls into the bucket lavawitch described.

(Also, not the point at all, buuuut for whatever it's worth, I don't think gender changes your chronotype, it's just additional demographics for the researchers. I'd be ok submitting the form as both M and F, and then writing an email to the people in charge. I vaguely remember that info. being easy to find, but if you have trouble finding it, I can totally find it for you.)

I am not allowed to take the survey due to working shifts. But my type is 'want to be in bed all the time'.

Smack dab in the middle with "normal". I have a 30-60 minute sleep debt on work days. My schedule gets completely wonky when I'm at my partner's house, though, because he's a total night owl and we stay up late together watching movies and then I sleep later too, but left to my own devices, it's not my natural rhythm.

I dont really understand the question "i actually get ready to fall sleep at..." I answered it to mean that when I get in bed, I go to bed. I don't read in bed or watch tv or anything, so i said the same time for going to bed and getting ready to fall asleep at.

I think that's probably what they meant you to do, ijdi. Versus someone like me who usually gets in bed and reads for15-30 minutes before turning out the light. I put the time I get in bed and then "I actually get ready to fall asleep at" half an hour later.

I'm super normal. I guess that makes sense because that's what I force myself to do in order to be a functional human being at work. If I had taken this a month ago before I got a job, I bet it would have been a different story. But i actually prefer having a schedule and getting up early everyday.

for me i go to bed at whatever time and i know from years of experience it takes me several hours to fall asleep cause i suck so while i dont know exactly what time i fall asleep i guessed 3 hours later.
