You don't press it? I agree this is the best tofu I've had, but I still press it. What happens if I don't????

I also want to get those "Where do you get your protein?" cards to hand out. And the deserted island poster was a hoot.

So funny. I love that there is a vegan on Buzzfeed. I keep my vegan-ness kind of light hearted, and love posting stuff like this on FB. It cracks my friends up.

Oh and taco bell? Yum. I really don't eat much fast food, but i have a weekness for Taco bell, especially when travelling. Just tell them fresco on any of the vegetarian stuff and you are good (for the most part). I think I posted up a vegan guide in a thread somewhere a while back...I did a hell of a lot of research on it

The pulp fiction protein meme crack me the fork up. ERRBODY always asks me about protein! I should just keep this pic on my desk at work. And I love pulp fiction anyways

On the east coast we have Twin Oaks tofu which also defies the need to press.

What I do is wrap it up in all the clean kitchen towels and create a load of laundry for myself.

I have two boxes now in the fridge. I'm going to toss caution to the wind and be bonkers no more!!!

Oh yeah! That stuff is so dense I'm surprised any water presses out of it at all! Even their soft tofu is firmer than most extra firms. #homesick

I'm definitely going to scramble it right out of the package within the next 72 hours (or so). This could be a game changer!

I've caught myself eating cubes of uncooked tofu as I was cutting it to put in the marinade. I gave myself a vegan pat on the back for it.

They totes got mine right! I wrote it down and handed it to them and made up an elaborate story about how I was getting it for A Friend, I would neeeever trouble the good people of Taco Bell with so many substitutions and requests.

YES, this is the best tofu ever. I can't believe I went all those years with wet soft tofu.

I have never been to a Taco Bell in my life, but I kind of sort of want to break that streak just to try this.

Was it good? Was it worth it?!

Why is everyone so shy with the Taco Bell people? They don't care how many substitutions you make, it's just a button push for them and the kitchen workers similarly just follow the orders on the screens. Really not a big deal!

Yeah, I used to work at a Wendy's, and seriously three subs would not be the most ridiculous subs/requests ever.

We don't have a Taco Bell here (well, there's one in the movie theatre, but I get popcorn when I go to the movie!) but its nice to know there's a yummy option if I ever move!

I think the screens in the kitchen are actually listing what to put on there, the employees aren't doing anything from memory, so when you make a substitution at the register, the ingredients on the screen in the kitchen are changed to reflect that. No big. :)

The taco bell near my office is new-ish and has a screen at the drive-thru so you can see your order as they put it in. It really helps because you can stop them if you see an error. Doesn't eliminate the possibility of kitchen mistakes, but I still like it.

Ours have that too but I feel really bad about having to correct the order too many times. Like I'll occasionally accept my burrito without guacamole because we've already been over the fact that it's a bean burrito no cheese like twice and I just can't bear to do it again.

This is just a little taste of what it's like living with my level of social anxiety. That I'm able to actually order food at all sometimes feels like a miracle.

I used to be like that too Fee, but then I started having to buy lunch for my insane boss with the most absurdly picky food orders in the world. He will throw a tantrum if it's not right (I got yelled at once for bringing back a milkshake with 3 cherries on top when he requested 5), so sometimes it's a battle at fast food places. It makes my veganized orders look like nothing!

Being an ex Taco Bell drive through worker person I can say as long as youre not being a cocksword, I didnt care what the orders and substitutions were...youd be amazed at how many people didnt want onions on their bean burritos...which always was funny because the onions are cut almost molecule thin and have barely any taste on their own

Oh man, I relate to this so much. I know it's not a big deal but it's so hard for me to even ask for them to switch out the red sauce for green sauce, and leave off the cheese. I have to rehearse the request in my head multiple times while I'm waiting in line because I'm so stressed out. Asking for potatoes and guac will probably make me stroke out. Le sigh.
