I just wanted to brag on VegFund, because I think they're a wonderful organization and I'm not sure how familiar people are with them. They're a nonprofit that gives individuals money to hold small animal activism events, usually involving food. So if you hold a vegan bake sale, they'll pay for the ingredients. Or if you want to do a Pay to Watch event on a campus, they'll provide the money. I just think it's a really neat, positive organization, and maybe a good way to do some activism if you're shy about leafletting. Because who doesn't want free food?

They have a really neat graphic about their work here: http://www.vegfund.org/vegfund-results.html

never heard of them before....thanks for the heads up! now you've got my wheels a-turnin. I've done leafleting and protest stuff in the past and it wasn't really my thing. I am looking forward to exploring this angle :)

When I ran a college vegetarian group and when I did some work with a small vegan nonprofit, they were a huge help and a great resource. It was really nice to have some support sometimes, and they were always super easy to deal with, especially compared to the bureaucracy of dealing with the university or government. Sometimes it's hard to get support for vegan causes, but there was always VegFund.

They are super rad! I wrote an article that included them and they were the nicest people to deal with and the organization is such a great one. The simplicity of their model is really effective.
