How do I sponsor a turkey?

Where is a good place to sponsor a turkey this time of year? Is that something that Farm Sanctuary does? Should I try to find a local farm animal rescue? I am looking for some guidance and thought that the ppk would be a good place to ask!

Yes, Farm Sanctuary is great for Adopt-a-Turkey. The turkeys there get to have a (bird-friendly) Thanksgiving dinner! I am going to adopt one this year so I'll have something kind to think about when I'm at family events full of dead animals.

Or, you could just donate money to any good organization, like Mercy for Animals, Defenders of Wildlife, or just do a search for a highly rated organization on Charity Navigator.
