Love Child, that's frightening. Seriously, don't fork around with your iron! Buy yourself one of those little granny pill cases that have the days of the week on them and don't leave the house in the morning without taking your iron pill.

I woke up feeling iffy but okay, until I ate breakfast then I became so incredibly nauseous. This is the second day this week I've missed. I am tired of being sick, and tired of being broke from missing so much work. Surgery in 8 days!

My biggest recommendation is to get a hot water bottle for after surgery. The gas pain was horrific and I couldn't even sit up or lay down on my own for a few days. The hot water bottle was the only thing that soothed it. Otherwise the surgery was pretty easy for me. Also don't be surprised if everything gives you the runs for awhile. It's pretty normal. I just made this surgery sound really rough. I promise it's way better than having a crappy gallbladder! Good luck! :)

I am sick. Just that beat down cold sort of sick that makes me never want to get out of bed.

Because of our rather low income bracket, we temporarily moved in to public housing, that is, government assisted housing. I am working very hard to get out. I am teaching at a community college, and going to grad school and doing everything I can. Still, if you need anything, be prepared to be treated like shiitake. It doesn't matter what someone's socioeconomic status is; people shouldn't be treated like that. I had a simple question about the electric bill. I was the only customer in the office, and I could hear them back there talking, but that didn't matter. I still had to wait an hour. Then when they finally saw me, they acted like I was putting them out: rolling their eyes, huffing and puffing and everything--just because I had the nerve to wait an hour to ask them one question. I can't forking wait until I can get out of public housing.

Got an almost 2 hour long conference call...a 'town hall' meeting. You can do it online. Cool, sit here with my headphones on right?
WRONG. you have to CALL IN ON THE PHONE. So i have to sit holding the forking phone to my face for 2 hours.
WHY? so stupid!

umeshu costs $$$$$$$ here, and as i'm sure you know, summer is only survivable if you have mugicha and umeshu!! especially when it's as hot as it's been here lately. so back to the drawing board, and using straight vodka.

2 things. We're doing a secret Santa gift exchange at work and were supposed to fill in a list of things we like and dont like. Everyone at work knows I'm vegan, I wrote it on my gift exchange list (no dairy!) and yet I still managed to get Godiva dark chocolate as a gift, which of course has butterfat in it.
Also, theres a meeting at work today about a child who got the wrong medication before they were discharged home and because my name is on the chart i have to go to the meeting. I did not discharge the kid, did not give any instructions regarding medication, yet i still have to go. Its going to be a meeting full of blame and finger-pointing, and frankly, my fragile psyche cant handle it right now. Its my 4th day in a row, and i am -thisclose- to tears. Crying at the meeting would automatically assume guilt, and my manager is forcing me to go. Fork my life today.

You might need someone to help you put your shoes on when you're discharged, the incision below the bellybutton is quite uncomfortable upon bending over and the scar tissue there can stay tight for quite a while. Amajorrecords - I suffered the runs too, on and off for a few months The doctor explained that the cause is that it can take your body a little while to figure out where to store the bile in the absence of the gallbladder.

Everybody and their dog and cat is out shopping, so drive home was going to take over 3 hrs, so I went to Wegmans for comfy chair and tofu.
I want to curl up in bed with heating pad, pain meds, and cuddly conure.
Also, the two samosas I got are gross. What a waste of money. Boo. I'm gonna need peanut butter cups on my way out.

I was in the hospital for a full week last year for low iron. It was exacerbated because of internal bleeding, but same difference. I was in the cardiac care ward because I was a high risk due to being so low. I had to get multiple transfusions. I had to be woken up every 4 hours for an entire week to get my iron levels checked. It sucked. I also passed out, plus was throwing up blood. I was in such bad shape, I had trouble calling for help. Don't be like me. If you have trouble with iron supplements causing pain and other awful issues, screw being a perfect vegan and get the iron grape chews from bariatriceating.com. They have carmine, but they changed my life and health for the better as other suoplements were either too low dose or hurt like fork to take. These are designed for people with absorption issues so they are the real deal. First time *ever* my iron hasn't been dangerously low (I have absorption and other issues).

J-dub, I am so happy for you finally getting some relief. Sending many good thoughts for the surgery and your quick and painless recover. ScooterDiva wrote: Crying at the meeting would automatically assume guilt, and my manager is forcing me to go. Fork my life today. That is exactly true. If you think you're going to cry, bow out at the last minute with food poisoning or terrible period cramps or something no one will question. Otherwise go, keep a very low profile and keep repeating the same sentence that you did not discharge the kid. When L was discharged from the hospital, the idiot resident wrote down the wrong meds and the wrong pediatrician information and it was only the nurse that caught it. And then he wrote it down wrong again, so we never got either the med or the chart. I complained about that and everyone said "Oh residents are idiots." Well then why are they in charge of my baby?

Even if walking really, really, really sucks, they will probably tell you to do it anyway, and gas is a big reason why. After my gastric bypass, walking is the one thing my surgeon stressed over and over, and it really did help. Good luck! I'm excited for you. Well, you know what I mean, I hope.

My sister is so condescending its really unnerving. We didn't speak for about 3 years after my mother died because she was just horrible, and then we got back in touch after L was born. Now we need to finish one more thing on the estate, and she is being so rud and nasty again. If she speaks to me, she only uses one syllable words, accentuates them very clearly, speaks very slowly and says "DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" After every sentence. Today she asked me to fill out forms, but won't tell me what they are for. I have asked a few times and she just tells me "You. Need. To. Fill. Out. The. Form. With. Your. Account. Number. Do. You. Under. Stand?"
I really am remembering that in my family, I am treated like I am stupid. She treated me like this my whole childhood and learned it from my mother.
I am going to be so glad once this thing is over. I'm sure she'll find some way to screw me over, but hopefully not by too much.

I hope it gets sorted out satisfactorily, Tofulish.
I know I keep whining about it but the worst thing about my day has been the cold! I really need to do a LOT of housework, but it's been so cold I haven't been able to take my coat off for most of the day, and that's not conducive to doing a lot of the activities I needed to do (for instance I now have flour rubbed into my coat sleeves because I forgot it'd probably be a good idea to take it off when I was making bread).

It basically came down to root cause analysis and how to fix a broken system. I'm sorry you had that experience with L. There are very few residents that I would trust.
