Oh couroupita, what a nightmare! I am so sorry for your loss and hope that your Dad feels more stable soon. I think he did the right thing if the poor bird was in agony, but it must have been horrifying and hard to do. He sounds like a very brave and loving man.

My boyfriend's mom posted a picture of him on Facebook right after his surgery today. He was still unconscious in the picture, he probably doesn't know it's online, and it was my first (and so far my only) time seeing him post-surgery because I couldn't miss school/work and now it's too late to visit. It was really jarring and I just feel upset.

I ate too much protein in one go yesterday and now my tummy's turned against me.

Someone I really don't like wants to try out for my derby league. Not amused.

Yes, this! My dog died when my entire family was away, and only my little sister's boyfriend was there looking after her.

It sounds like your dad made the right decision, and hopefully he can eventually come to peace with that knowledge. <3

Yesterday I ate egg believing it was tofu. It was diced and crumbled into some kind of paella and of course some people made fun of it by saying "haha, you're not vegan anymore!".

i had a really vivid rape dream this morning and i just can't shake it from my head. I don't know what else to do with it but write down that it happened. And it's not going on facebook and I don't keep a diary... So.

I have spent most of my evening in bed because my back is so sore. Right now I have a massive wedgie but I am in too much pain to move to get it sorted. This is like Chinese torture. People that have never had back problems will never understand how bad back pain is.

I've had back problems for over 20 years, I would pick that wedgie out for you if I was near enough. Hope it eases soon!

I get those thermoheat stick on patch jobbies and wing them on when mine goes, that and the tens machine are the only things that help.

I'm lucky that my chronic pain only manifests itself as back problems once in a blue moon. But when it turns into stabbing hip and lower back pain, it is completely debilitating. I hear you!

Sorry you are hurting. Back pain is the worst. Don't sneeze!

Do you have a nice hearing pad? If you get back pain often, I can't recommend a moist heat heating pad enough. THey are expensive, but they are heavily weighted and get very hot with deep penetrating moist heat, usually in a 20 minute cycle. Very similar to what physical therapists use.

I just wanted to give an update. My dad is really distraught and wouldn't answer the phone or texts yesterday but he did come home last night and is ok. He doesn't want to talk to me at all but he's checking in so I know he's ok. He buried C. last night. I'm still a total wreck so I can only imagine how he feels. He feels responsible for all this because he's been depressed the last few years and hasn't been as attentive to C.'s needs as he feels he should've been. He keeps saying he committed C. suicide and I don't really know what to say to that.

Family drama continues to be over-dramatic. Also, just got a text from my sister saying that grandma's swelling has "ballooned". My mom's NOT a caregiver but she was home with grandma all day and didn't think to do something? Or, you know, to cancel her last minute plans for a "romantic weekend" with the dude that caused all the family drama? fork.

I'm glad he is OK and I'm so sorry, again, for all of you. How hard for him. Good for you for being there and respecting his grieving process. I know from my own family that it's sometimes hard to understand other people's grief and guilt, but just by being there and open to him when he's ready to talk, you're doing a good thing. hang in there.

Thanks everyone. I'm a bit better today after going for a long walk with the neighbour. It's relaxed the muscles a bit as they were starting to really tense up. I'm sat with a hot water bottle against my back. I'm too broke to go to the doctor or buy anything that will help it at present so I'm praying that a weekend of rest will sort it out. Usually it acts up for a few days then it resolves.

couroupita- I'm really glad that he's been in touch.

paloma - that sounds like a nightmare! When I played one of my worries was about that happening.

My worst things are my period and Mr8's Dad acting like total spoiled brat. He's never taken Mr8 seriously and doesn't believe him when he says he can't do something. He's never taken Mr8's ASD diagnosis seriously and openly mocks it. Tomorrow is Great-Grandma's 92nd birthday party and Mr8 is taking BG down to it on the train, but Dad wanted them to come today and stop over, to the point of calling to interrogate Mr8 about my symptoms (A paramedic came out to see me earlier for suspected septic shock. I'm ok and don't have it, but still feel pretty rough.) as he clearly thought Mr8 was lying and making excuses for not coming today, even though he really doesn't want to go at all because of his parents being complete a-holes. He'd much rather take BG to visit Great-Grandma at her home instead of as part of a cabaret of togetherness from an extended family who don't actually like each other.
