I made plans to go shopping and have coffee on Saturday with my cousin on Friday afternoon via text. I looked on FB Saturday morning and see she posts that she is going tanning and having coffee after work, when we made plans. I thought - well maybe that is later - don't jump to conclusions. I never get a text from her and see she is making plans with other people. So I posted on her post saying "so I guess that is why you forgot about me?"...She texted "oh my god, I am so sorry"...I did not reply. My boyfriend thinks I am being dramatic. However people tend to do this to me a lot, either I am a horrible person who people give a shiitake about or people just think they can walk all over me...I am tired of it.

Sorry MMC! That would have totally annoyed me too, but at least it sounds like she is sorry about the mistake!

This is the second time she has done something like this to me in a few months...

I just got to sit in a cop car and tell what I saw. I haaaate being in the presence of police, even when I've done nothing wrong, it just fills me with so much anxiety. That plus when the cop was in our apartment he joked about shooting Gershwin if he got violent. I hate today so much.

Oh my god, PPPP. That is so terribly tragic. Sometimes I really can't believe how horrible people can be. That cop was a jerk to threaten your kitten. I'm glad you, T and the cats are okay, and I hope your landlord heals quickly and the people that did this are held responsible. St. Patrick's Day is one of the worst holidays/drunkfests. I wish it would just stop.

I just mean that it's a lot to put a body through and maybe diet isn't to blame.

I misread PPPP's post. It was the landlord from the other building. Still, no one deserves that.

My ex took his car back without notice. It is his car but he doesn't use it and i work fifty miles from home. Fork.

Yeah, poor guy :( I feel so bad for him. He was just going to try and help, and he ended up getting beaten up by a gang of young guys, choked and almost thrown off the balcony. Both T. and I made statements though, and I think the women who live in the unit are cooperating, so it looks like they'll find those punkasses and arrest them.

Everyone seems to think it is okay to do this to me. I am putting my foot down!

good for you. cutting off an especially flaky friend last year [let's be frank: cutting off the flaky user bisque] was one of the better things i've done lately. hope it gives you similar satisfaction.

In the process of filing restraining orders and trying to get the phone company to block the line of a mentally ill former client of my office who is literally calling us every 10 seconds. He called 250 times before noon today. Thankfully he is invalid so I know he cannot physically threaten us, but the nonstop phone calls are a form of psychological warfare and are taking their toll. I have to wait 24 hours for my restraining order to be processed, and the phone company has needed three business days (in the year 2013!) to figure out how to potentially block his number (our landline and his cell phone are the SAME service provider, BTW).

I can't imagine how frustrating and terrifying this would be for someone who is being threatened by someone who *is* physically mobile or who can't just turn the phones off if it gets particularly intense.

What drives me crazy about all of it is how many people, when I explain the situation, say "why don't you...?" turn off the phone, block the number, let it ring and wear him out, talk him out of it.... etc... As if I haven't literally tried everything possible to get this madness to stop.

Have you tried turning the phone off and turning it back on again? Or rebooting?

good news: we're now eligible for social assistance!
bad news: we are poor, and applying for assistance and disability is a pain in the asparagus.

while i'm at it, i'm (in)patiently waiting for my partner to finish his schoolwork so we can have sexytimes. our sex life is much better since i've gotten healthier, but i seem to always be the one who has to initiate, so i get self conscious and frustrated.

i pulled something in my shoulder/upper back and have been in pain the last few days...on & off. my mom was like 'go to the doctor'....all the doctor will do is give me pain pills and then my dad will sniff them out and be around our house 24/7....no thanks!

Today just sucked all around for me. For some reason everything was really triggering and I felt like I wanted to cry for most of it.

Now I'm trying to study for my stats final and feeling really discouraged. Ugh, can it just be spring break already?

my landlord just told me that they're thinking of selling the house again. it was on the market a few months before i rented this apartment, in 2011, and i asked then whether they might try to sell it again, just so i knew how comfortable i should let myself get here. he said he was done trying to sell it and he had never really wanted to move because the building had been in his family since 1913 or something and on and on, and i thought that was that. now they're telling me that if i have to move, it won't be for at least two years, so i shouldn't worry. but i am so worried, because finding this apartment was a miracle, and i can't afford more than i'm paying, and whether i have to move in two years or two days, i'll probably have to move into a windowless basement in the middle of nowhere. i've been so happy here, and now i'll never feel safe or at home in this space again. god, renting is the forking worst.

A friend of mine was taken into hospital today. He is seriously ill with pneumonia and several other things that the doctors have not yet diagnosed. He is in an isolation ward and not well enough for visitors at the moment. Our local hospital is excellent but I am still very worried.

My worst thing was going into a patient's room and seeing bugs crawling all over the floor. I told someone immediately and they called someone to come take care of it, but it was pretty heartbreaking. I've never seen anything like this anywhere else in the building, but I'm worried it won't get taken care of right away. I don't want her to have to be in this room like that for even a day, but who knows how long it's been going on for. ugh.

god, ijdi, that's terrible. can you call in an anonymous tip to a health department or something if it doesn't get better right away?

Yeah, I would do that if it came down to it, but I'm going to tell the nurse manager tomorrow when I see her since I couldn't find her today. I think she'll get it taken care of right away.
Another woman was complaining to me that if you don't have family to advocate for you, you get nothing done and it's sad, but she's probably right.
