My sleeping has been so screwed up, more so than usual to the extent that it's making my depression issues worse. Today, I finally got up at 10:30 (boy, Molly went into paroxysms of excitement and practically fell off her perch to see my that early) and then ended up with awful stomach pains (again, had on and off all week) and ended up having to take pain meds and going back to sleep and woke up at 8. Now I'm going to be awake all night again. And it still hurts.

I'm seeing the useless gastro next week but am not hopeful since he refused to listen to me at all when I tried to say current treatment has already failed to help over past 2 years. I really hate arrogant crasshole doctors, but I can't get a referral to a new gastro until I do the follow up with him.

I still haven't signed up for water aerobics and have gotten back into being afraid to leave the house. I'm so thankful I'm still doing the GED classes, because getting out of the house for those few hours really keeps me sane.

But the worst thing is that I have things I want to do and I have nothing but time right now and I haven't done ANYTHING. I seriously have no idea what I do all day/night. I taught GED yesterday for 3 hours, but other than that I can't think of a single thing that I did other than watch Dexter for 45 minutes. Where did the rest of the hours go?

We did. The mean cat and another one of our cats hate each other too, so we rotate them out of the spare bedroom. It was mean cat and mean cat jr's turn in the main part of the house today but we switched them back early. Oddly, they all got along fine in a tiny tiny studio but when we moved to a house the problems started.

A relatively new colleague at work, a sharp as a tack young woman of 29 has just been given a dx for a heart problem which demands that she cease work immediately.
Her family have similar problems but ... well, I do not know the details.
She looks a strong, fit person, cycling the 2 miles to work daily ... I do hope they can stabilise her so that she can travel home (she is a Czech) to see her family.

Depression sucks, and it's such a vicious cycle; there have definitely been times when that feeling of having "nothing but time but not doing ANYTHING" has been all too omnipresent. I hope your useless doctor refers you to one who can help get your GI troubles under control; it's tough to even think about feeling better above the neck when stuff below it is going haywire. Sending good thoughts, and hoping things improve soon. (And of course you can always PM/FB me if you need an ear and/or shoulder.)

I accidentally poisoned my friend. I mean, she's ok, but she had an extreme allergic reaction, and it's my fault. T had gotten me an orzo salad from Whole Foods that didn't list cheese in the ingredients, but there was feta in it, so I gave it to my friend. She's allergic to pine nuts, and I totally forgot to check for them. She ate some without realizing, and got really sick. I feel like I am the actual worst person ever because here I am, a vegan who insists people check ingredients for me, and then I don't check for someone who has an actual allergy and she gets sick.

Doh.

Don't feel bad! It's partly on her for not checking, as well, but sometimes these things just happen. When I was up in Portland last month I managed to eat peanuts on three different instances in a week- and two of the three were totally and completely my fault. I've been allergic to peanuts my entire life! It happens sometimes, the important thing is that she's okay!

I have to take a kitten in for an enucleation (eye removal) today. Positive spin-it will end the pain she is in. She's also blind in her other eye. She's super sweet too.

GAAH! I did this once, too, with a friend who had a severe allergy to tree nuts. I thought I'd bought nuts that she'd already told me she could eat (walnuts, almonds, and peanuts, which aren't actually nuts but whatever) but apparently they had been processed with nuts she can't tolerate and she wound up going to the ER ON CHRISTMAS EVE. Thankfully she was okay, and was at pains to tell me it wasn't my fault, but I still felt absolutely terrible about it.

Flat tire on my bike, when I was already running late heading home and hoping I could really tear asparagus to the light rail. Luckily there's a bus that goes right along the route I ride on. Unluckily I dragged my bike a little too slowly to the nearest stop (a mile out from where I got the flat) and missed the relevant bus by about 60 seconds. This all has a trickle down effect and I'll be lucky if I get home before seven. So I can leave the house again at 5 tomorrow morning.

I would agree, but she's mostly blind and I'm pretty sure one of the things she can't see at all are the tiny lists of ingredients on things. Last year she bought me some rice mix thing and it had beef bouillon in it, so that was my first clue (since she's pretty darned diligent about that stuff, for me).

My worst thing is having a fight with my boyfriend at 6:30 in the morning. And still with no resolution, so I'm just going to feel off all day. I hate having emotions.

The kitten, whose name was Lois, didn't make it. I'm crying over this. She died on the table.

I am so sorry that Lois died ... cats need to grow old and grumpy. I am sorry that you had to go through this.

I'm so sorry, blondie.

One of my friends' cats was in the ER all day yesterday with fluid in his lungs. The test results were not good, and the vet thinks he has FIP, so he probably doesn't have much longer. They've only had him and his brother for a few months. So heartbreaking.

My aunt being a total forking idiot by discussing my aunts psychosis right near my cousins who didn't know that their barely dead mother was a lot more unwell than they thought. They heard everything. I told the dad but it all happened to late in the evening/night and too many people were around to deal with it. He is going to take the youngest off tomorrow and I'm going to have a sit down with the girls and explain it as sensitively as possible.

I pulled my aunt on it. I went right over to her and said not the time and the place and not appropriate discussion for at the grave and consider that they may not know the full details. She said "so what, they have to know sometime." My response "and telling them in a respectful manner and in a healthy way would be a lot more beneficial, not overhearing it being broadcast at the grave."

I'm so livid. So seriously livid.

My work stalker decided to start calling again. I called the police raised all sorts of holy hell about why he has been allowed to violate the civil harassment order three times, now. I was assigned an investigator! Who is not in the office until Saturday.

I'm in a comparatively good position, because he is disabled and cannot physically travel to my location, much less harm me. But still, it's horrifying to think how cavalierly this whole sordid mess has been handled by the police.

my dad who could have helped with my debt to the vet blew all his money at the casino...he could have paid the $1,000 vet debt, future vet visits, bought mar 20 cat condos, helped local cat rescue fix 30 kittens and then some...

he was all crying and it just pissed me off. i have more important things on my damn mind...i already saw him through his drug addiction...he needs to grow up and get help. forking seriously.

I just got back from visiting family for the last time for probably over a year. I'm sad that I won't see my grandparents for a while (and have fingers crossed for their health) but that's not the worst thing about my day, that's just life, i've never lived close to them or really had a super close relationship with them so it's not new.

the worst thing about my day was seeing/being around my mother and really like, realizing that I can't have her as a regular/geographically close part of my life. I was so anxious while she was around that I threw up 2 times in the 48hrs I was there, and almost cried like 5 times because of things she said to me. I am not a ~sensitive~ person but I felt like a stupid raw nerve for the past 2 days. the worst part of my day was driving away from my mother and her family (with whom a relationship is dependent on my contact with my mother) and realizing that I felt in leaving, more than anything, relief.

I know it's better for me in the end, I know I can't change them and that having to deal with her is detrimental to my emotional and physiological wellbeing.

but the idea of having no family is sort of terrifying, even though they hurt me.
I know my dad is around right now, but he wasn't for a good ~13yrs and I don't trust that he'll be there (also like, he's got a whole normal attractive family unit with actual kids happening in his life, he has no obligation or societal expectation of loyalty for his 23yr/old weirdo kid from a different marriage, y'know? I really appreciate that he helps me out with things financially sometimes, but he's not exactly a support system, or what comes to mind when people think "family")

so I think while i'm super relived I'm also sort of struck with the crushing weight of how alone I am right now.
It's hard to face reality, even though I know it's better for me.

You do have your chosen family, though! They are often the best kind :)

I am sorry to hear about that, though. I have never felt at ease with my mother's entire side of the family, like I could be myself around them, sometimes including my mother as well, and my father's side of the family is all 6,000 miles away. It can be tough, especially when you have friends with amazing enormous families who are loving and hilarious and tons of fun. But the upside to that is you get to join their families as an honorary member!
