I have a sinus infection. BUT, that's not the worst thing about my day. The worst thing about my day is that I had to go to THREE clinics before a doctor would see me. (And it's Sunday, so it's not like I had any other options.)
Clinic #1: Arrived shortly after 2PM. Clinic was supposed to close at 4:30 . . . and they were already booked full. Went to get basic sick supplies at the pharmacy.
Clinic #2: Arrived at about 2:45. Clinic closes at 3. They wouldn't see me.
INTERMISSION (aka massive nap)
Clinic #3: Doctor looks at me: "you're really sick." No shiitake.
I'm going to go sleep through the next three days.

I'm not planning on moving out, though I could. She seems very depressed, and because of that I think she is sensitive. I moved in with her because she trains horses at a barn that my friend stables his horse at. She moved to the area knew no one. I've offered to go out with her in a variety of ways and she always turns me down. She goes in her room when she comes home and just lays in bed with the dog watching Netflix. She's mentioned being very stressed and her eating has turned a complete 180 from lean protein and veg to lots of junk food and take out and she gave up on her plan of doing a fitness physique competition.

If she isn't feeling well, I personally wouldn't say anything, because I would not see anything good coming from it. I would probably ask her if she wanted to go for a walk with me and bring the pup and if she says no ask if you can walk the dog, because it seems like he could use some exercise, if that works for you at all. Or get a Kong and stuff and give it to the pup to play with.

^ I agree. It sounds like she's really going through something and is probably already feeling a bit bad about the dog not getting enough exercise. I'm not sure if your area has been going through the winter weather some of us have been experiencing, but maybe things will improve with warmer weather?

Good advice guys! We're just getting out of winter as of maybe two weeks ago. There's still snow in some parts of the woods. So I think maybe she'll cheer up with weather and she has some horse competitions she's going to.

I completely forgot about a work-required class yesterday that I had signed up for. I'm really really hoping this isn't going to count against me. I can sign up for another one; it's my boss's reaction I'm concerned about.

I miss my dad so much, and my own facebook status is making me cry, and my parents' anniversary is next Monday and I don't know how to acknowledge that in a sensitive way, and I hate this so, so much.

And I find myself looking at men who appear to be older than my dad and thinking "What's so great about you that you get to live to be in your 80s?" and I hate how unkind and selfish that thought is.

Lots of hugs Invictus. Your dad stories made me smile.

It's so hard, there just isn't anything to say or do.

Hugs, Invictus. While those feelings are awful, I think they are very normal.

A few weeks ago my husband and I were on vacation and I saw an older man who looked so much like an older version of my Uncle that I was startled. Then I felt instantly angry and sad that my Uncle never got to live that long. This man was (presumably) just enjoying his vacation like the rest of us, but the moment definitely brought up some stuff for me.

I am sorry things are hard right now.

For my best friends birthday we had plans to do an all day Wes Anderson Movie fest. Food, drinks, indulgence. The hosts cancelled.

These people cancel all the time. Seriously. Every time we do something there is at least one reschedule. All for the sake of being the center of attention.

I am finding it hard to remain friends on the most casual level with them.

Passed my regular bubble tea place because it was swarming with tourists, went to a different place, and the peach tea tastes nasty. Like maybe it has half the amount of flavor and sugar it should. So I bought a Mexican Coke instead. Also tastes off.

I JUST NEED SOME SUGAR DAMMIT

Hugs Invictus and LW. A year ago my dad was having a trip of a lifetime, driving through Europe with his girlfriend. I'm finding the last 2 weeks really hard.

Kfad, that sucks. You'll be glad to know my iPad autocorrected "kfas" to your username. It knows you. Or maybe you'll find that creepy. I dunno.

EVERY SINGLE MORNING my upstairs neighbors (a family with 2 kids in a double apartment) make SO MUCH NOISE. Well, every afternoon as well, but the mornings are absolutely horrifying. The oldest child is screaming at the top of her lungs at least 20 minutes (more often 30 or 40 minutes) in hysteria. This happens on top of our bedroom and IN THE GOD DAMN STAIRWELL. This is a 100+ year old building, so obviously you can hear every single thing that happens out there. Every morning at 7:50 they get out into the stairwell and then the kid screams (I guess because she has to put on her shoes?). This means that it takes a long time for them to get out of the stairwell - the most extreme was 15 minutes of constant crying and screaming, which must have woken up everyone in the building.
The parents fight really loud with a few weeks in-between (thankfully it's gotten better lately), so it's basically a family of people who scream at the top of their lungs to get their will.

I am so tired of having to listen to other people's family drama. Seriously, there is a reason I don't have a child. It's partly because I love my quiet mornings. UGH. I don't mind being able to hear people every once in a while, but this is a crazes situation. I spend EVERY SINGLE MORNING listening to someone's hysterical child scream that she hates her mother, that she hates shoes, that she hates the wrong toy, that she doesn't want to get up etc. I hate it. She's at least 5, she is too old to throw massive fits of hysteria every morning because of shoes!

The evil part of me kind of wants to dump a brochure for a child behavior psychologist and for a divorce lawyer (they used to fight like mad people at all hours of the day, where they would dump the kids in one room and fight in the next, and then we could hear the children crying for their parents. It was horrifying and almost made me call the police several times). I know this whole thing comes off as a little cynical, but I need to rant in order to not go crazy.

Maybe you should record their screaming and post a copy through their door. I'm sure it sounds ridiculous, and also giving them more credit than they probably deserve, but maybe they think the walls keep the noise contained. Like, they don't get that sound carries through walls/floors and think they can be as loud as they want. Or you could chat to them and see if they realise how loud it is. But if you address it and it carries on, then just call in noise complaints to whoever would deal with it. You can't live like that (and really, those children shouldn't either, but that's not on you).

My sister has had a heart attack and is in intensive care. Her mom says they put in two stents and she's expected to make a full recovery, but she's going to need to make some major lifestyle changes. She's been well into morbidly obese territory, BMI-wise, for many years, smokes, and is very sedentary. Not to mention being my father's kid, which isn't doing any of us any genetic favors. Everyone's been worried about her health for a long time but she's always brushed it off. She's not type II diabetic, so she's acted like there's no cause for concern. Scary stuff. I'm not OK with the idea of losing my beautiful sister.
