Lavawitch, I'm so sorry to hear about this. You already had both hands full. hang in there.

StrawberryRock- you might call the cardiologist and say you forgot to mention the breathing thing when you were there, could you arrange a phone call (at cardiologist's convenience) or even email exchange to clear up your doubts? Specialists often deal with people who can't remember their questions because it's a stressful situation and i don't think it's uncommon to have this kind of followup (especially when people can only afford one specialist visit). they may say no, but it's worth a try.

I just got groped by a stranger at a coffee shop when I stopped for an americano on my way to work. It's early in the day yet but unless I really have a shitty day I don't think I'm gonna top that.

(I'm ok, just shocked and forking freaked out.)

Ugh, C&S! I'm so sorry to hear that. I hate the feeling after something like that happens. Or at least the feeling I get, violated, but like I should have done something, but also like I want to curl up in a ball and disappear.

Last night as I was stretching out in insomnia, I found a wet patch on the bed. Biscuit had peed on the bed a full two hours earlier, so it was totally soaked through my handmade quilt, the sheets, into the mattress and everything. I had to get up and do laundry at midnight, and then soak my mattress in Nature's Miracle and hope my steam cleaner will successfully get out the nastiness today.

In addition to why it's obviously frustrating, I really felt I was turning a corner with her housetraining. She'd been home alone all day with no accidents, not even on the pee pads, and I made sure to let her out right before bedtime (not knowing she'd already relieved herself [my quilt is dark and patchy- hence I didn't notice a dark, wet spot]).

So I started crying out of frustration and it swiftly devolved into a two-hour crying jag about my breakup. I woke up this morning feeling AWESOME and READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD. Anyone feel like making the embarrassing trip to the drugstore for me so I can get some Prep H for my puffy eyes?

Yeah, it is an awful feeling. My brain is just so out of whack now. I'm trying to get work done at work and it is just not going well.

I feel like I handled it as well as I could have. I was like, excuse me but what the fork? I tried to get the attention of the barista because seriously what the fork else do you do in a coffee shop but he couldn't hear me, and this guy was not moving away from me. And then he (the groper) started trying to shush me but didn't move further away from me-- at which point I started to mildly flip my shiitake and started telling him loudly, firmly, repeatedly and perhaps on just this side of shoutily, you need to move away from me, that was not okay. (Because seriously guy, fork you, you aren't going to say good morning to me and then grab my asparagus and then SHUSH ME when I say that's not okay, loser.) After I shouted at him for what felt like about twelve minutes straight (but was probably 30 seconds) he peaced out of the coffee shop. I saw him across the street while I was heading to the light rail, walking way too close behind two other ladies.

Ugh. That's awful, c&s. I'm sorry. The shushing part is so gross (obviously it's all terrible, but just... fork that guy).

That sucks so much, C&S. Good for you for speaking up for yourself, though.

I'm sorry, Erika. I'm feeling sad and puffy today too after a rough night last night.

I have been having a pretty tough time this last week or so. Found out my mom may be getting a divorce (from my step dad), the oldest is seriously looking like he will be moving in a day or two, and on and on.
But the worst today was when I woke up with massive bruises on the back of my leg. No idea how they got there and I know they weren't there when I went to bed.

C&S good for you! I meant to say there's no right way to react, but I'm so happy you spoke up. Anytime anything like that had happened to me I just shut down.

Big hugs everyone! I had a rough couple of days, but I'm feeling an upswing. Hope the pendulum swings to good things for you all as well!

I have two pallets of beer that need to be put on a ship basically right now to go to Denmark, only the shipping company's carrier didn't get it to the hub, despite a guaranteed delivery time and is not responding to phone calls from my shipping agent. Now a bunch of Danes are pissed at me and we don't know where the beer even IS.

I have astigmatism now. Apparently I went from not having astigmatism to needing it corrected in the past 6 months. At least I didn't have to pay for the eye exam since they considered it a recheck.

So now I need new contacts I can't afford (and I just spent $90 on a 2 month supply of the old ones). I think I will just continue to deal with the blurry vision for now. My eyes feel so much better since I switched to the dailies. I don't want to switch back to monthlies or something more affordable for astigmatism and deal with the pain and watering and redness from saltines and solutions.

I have test pairs in now and I'm not sure how much better I can see. Certainly not enough to triple my monthly contact cost. Blech.

Can my eyes just stop getting worse?

Ugh, bummer, LW! I haven't really been able to wear my contacts at all anymore for similar reasons. (The only contact solution that I liked was discontinued.) I'm glad they didn't charge you for the exam though!

I just don't use any solution. If I must, I use sterile eye wash. I'm lucky I don't get dry eyes very often.id be so screwed.

That sucks LW. I have astigmatism and the right glasses (so presumably contacts as well) do make things much better. Would you consider glasses instead of contacts for a one off cost maybe?

No. I have scars on my face from multiple glasses smashed into my face as a kid in gym class. When I can't wear contacts, I choose to just wander around nearly blind instead. Or just sit in one spot since the wandering approach usually ends up with me falling down the stairs.

That sucks, LW. I am mostly astigmatic with a weird prescription (farsighted + astigmatism == purple spotted unicorn of vision), and have had, at most frequent, monthlies - Biofinity Torics. I find them much more annoying to use than the previous two types, both of which got discontinued. I'm used to it now, but at first, moving over from the 3-month Preference (great, but expensive obviously) and then monthly Encore torics, I was disappointed with them.

I just really don't want more crepe to deal with right now. Status quo is all I want! I was expecting just another prescription bump. My doctor is pretty good at giving boatloads of trials. The ones I got today are Acuevue Moist so it's probably not a huge surprise I hate them--the regular dailies were really itchy/drying for me too.

Is it like bifocals where getting used to the correction can cause dizziness and headaches, etc for a while?

I have astigmatisms and when I first got my glasses, it was a big adjustment-- everything is shaped differently which for me led to headaches and a vertigo-y feeling. It went away within maybe two days?

I love to give other people my glasses to try on though, apparently if you have non-astigmatic vision they really mess with your depth perception and stuff.
