On Nov 6, Chris & I got married.
We had an all vegan budget wedding.
It was downtown Austin (W. 2nd street) at a rooftop lounge called Malverde (which has this whole Mexico City vibe). The interior design and architect duo who worked on this space are pretty incredible. This meant we didn't have to spend much money for decorations. We had a private ceremony at 5pm and the reception was from 6-9 (at the same place). The lounge is overlooking downtown, behind us is the W hotel (which was a huge construction site last time we visited so I'm glad we had a less distracting backdrop). On the day of the wedding, the street was shut down - it was chaos. There was a dog festival of some sort (which was fitting)! Chris and I LOVE dogs. When we were married, we stepped out on a private patio for a quiet moment. All we could hear was barking! It was like having a million "best wishes" from our canine friends. The lounge was a great way to save $$. Instead of charging us a huge fee to reserve the place, we just had a drink minimum! We got to buy everyone drinks, bring in our own vegan cake and vegan (home made) Mexican Pan de Polvo and the chef made us 3 different salsas to go with their house made chips.
-I found my veil, shoes and accessories a day before the wedding (which reminds me of my grandmas old tablecloth - sounds silly but it's sentimental for me)
-My shoes were marked down from 190 to 45 because they were the sample shoes the bridal store keeps in the dressing area for brides to wear whe they try on dresses. they fit like a glove and were comfy for a girl who NEVER wears heels and were only slightly worn.
-I found my dress alone on a rack after someone returned an online order in the store. It fit perfectly and didn't need any alterations (this was about 1 week before the wedding) and it wasn't "a wedding dress" so we saved money here.
-Our flowers came at 30% discount because we bought them wholesale using our tax id (thank goodness for this) so my mom, chris's mom and chris and I stayed up all night making boutineers, bridesmaid bouquets, my bouquet and other arrangements the night before.

gorgeous ppker Hannah and Chris

Hannah's Husband made the best toast and we'll never forget it.

This place makes the best drinks in town! Everything was vegan, top shelf best of the best. They made us our own sangria even! Since most of my older family members had a few drinks and called it a night early; we and our guests were left to reach the bar minimum! we drank A LOT! Oh, we danced our asparagi off, too.

(The <3 Glasses were our favors! Since we were downtown at night, we thought these would rock. They make every point of light like candles and streetlights turn into hearts!)

Sorry for all the photos but there you go! Now I'll have more time to PPK finally! Yay!
