I got a haircut today! He took off 5-6 inches and it is still super long! I feel way better now.

New hair! It's a little more purple / eggplant-y I think, but this was in bright sunlight.

ooh pretty!!!!
i was looking here to see when my horrible razor cut happened. April. It is August and i have had three haircuts to try to repair the damage from that razor cut. Still not fixed. I guess I'll never make that mistake again. The upside is that i found someone local and cheap. The downside is that the same person gave my mother the same haircut and she hates it. Awkward.....

I just colored my hair and it turned out a few shades darker than I usually go. When my kids saw me, they told me they like me better with lighter hair, and they keep giving me the side-eye. I feel so rejected!

They'll get used to it! I always feel weird about how my husband looks when he cuts his hair or beard, but then I prefer it that way after a few days of seeing it on him.

Really feeling it is time to do something new with my hair. Is the half-shaved thing over done now?

I still love it. It's still a bold move, even if it's not The Latest Thing. What kind of half-shave are you considering, and what's your hair like now?

How come the only place that gives me the right haircut is the mall?

If I go to any salon, they just won't do what I want: an angled bob. They either try and layer my bangs or get scared to cut the back short. At the mall they listen and get it right! I don't want bangs. Short in the back, long in the front, hair over one eye. END OF STORY.

Anyway, here's to the mall haircut.

Yeah, I hear you about the mall haircut! Yesterday I took my son to the mall for a haircut, and it's probably the first time we've ever been truly happy with how it turned out. It was exactly what we asked for; shocker!

I couldn't get a hair cut I liked anywhere, so I cut it myself (for the past six years). Why pay for crepe when I can get it for free.

My hair right now is a pixie with 5 weeks of grow-out. Pretty short, but not terribly exciting. I think I am going to have to get more length on top before I consider a partial shave.

Are you picturing something along these lines?

I've had a number of buzz cuts, but have grown out my hair to nearly shoulder length now. It's very fine and fluffy, not thick, so I can't tell if I'll learn to love it or if I'll always be happier with short hair. I keep trying to balance "must treat hair gently so it'll look nice" with "fork that, if my hair isn't fun for me it's not worth my time." I always have a list of short cuts to try if this doesn't pan out.

Urgh, I have two curls at either side of my forehead, and they are so awkwardly placed that they make my head look squared off. Nothing will tame them!

I used to have awkward curls around my shoulders. Then i got dreads and they bother me no more.
My rainbow hair dye is finally here! Too bad i won't have time to actually dye it for a few days. School starts next Wednesday and i would love to have it done by then.

Yay! I got 18 inches chopped off and I feel sooooo much better! No more sitting on my hair and pulling it when I move my head; no more closing it in a door and taking a step or two before I realize what I've done, etc. I've got cute side sweep bangs and some fun layers and it's pretty low key as far as "styling" goes, which is good, because I have zero patience or talent for styling my hair.

so I decided I really like the mermaid hair braid trend rn so I practiced by doing pigtails, I really like how this braid looks! I think it will be better with practice and as a single, thicker braid!

I'm getting my hair cut Saturday and I don't know what to do! I'm torn between just a trim or just cutting it all off. My roommate just got the cutest pixie and its making me want to finally get one. I couldn't imagine her with a pixie before, but it totally suits her, so maybe one wouldn't look as bad on me as I thought? Or I could just go with a bob of sorts... My hair is a few inches below my shoulders, so even just that would be a big change. AHHH decisions.

Oooh I love this cut! I have both sides of my hair shaved but always wear it down, swept over to the right. It's about ten inches long at the moment but I've been considering getting it cut shorter. Thanks for the inspiration!

I need ideas what to do with my long hair. I like it long, but I never style it because I have no time for curling, blow-drying, and bla bla bla. I pretty much put it back in a ponytail. It's so boring.

i never blow dry mine. i just braid it all crazy. try a french braid starting from the nape of your neck, or you can braid across your forehead, that's as exciting as i get.
