Oh man, supercarrot! I'm excited to hear about the outcome of this hair selling. It seems super weird to me that it can sell for so much! That website and the way everyone words everything it felt like some black-market fetish thing almost, hah. Here's hoping you get big $$$!

LW, that's happened to me pretty much every time I've dyed my hair, so I think it's at least kinda normal.

I went and got my hair cut today, and it's nothing special, same supershort pixie I get every now and then. But because of some laziness on my part/a previous hairstyle involving bleach, the new haircut makes it look like I have frosted tips.

So obviously I'm going to dye over it but I won't have a chance until Tuesday. Tomorrow is going to be a fun day of looking like this dude.

And please don't hesitate to pull out all the stops and go ahead and wear a polo and maybe a pair of aviators.

I think it looks good kilgore trout! I'd just rock the frosted tips for a few weeks until you need a trim!

Looking good Mars!

i am definitely going to hold out for someone who will offer more for just the 36 inches, since i have a full 3 months before the ad expires.
i would be willing to get it cut down to 1 inch, but not a buzz cut. (i have a big birth mark on my scalp)

Well if it's your only offer after a good chunk of time, I'd say go for the buzz! I mean, a buzz will grow long enough to not be able to see the scalp in about a week. Also, you could buzz it with a guard on the blade so it's not right against your scalp, like a #4, that's already a half an inch long, longer than most guys have it on the sides and back (standard dude side and back of head is 2).

and it IS becoming winter, and i would have just usually worn a knit cap the entire season anyway. i have about 3 weeks to decide. (they're coming to philly for an eagles game, and wanted to cut it themselves.) i googled the username, and there are a little bit of alarm bells, but as long as i don't give them my name, and have my husband accompany me, i should be safe. (it seems like it might be a fetish for them. their youtube account favorited a few hair cutting videos, and they commented on a few porn videos.)

hey, and if all they care about is the act of cutting, then maybe i can then turn around and sell the hair by itself. who knows!
i would definitely ask a salon if we could rent a chair for a few minutes. i am NOT going to meet them in their hotel room.

but we'll see. maybe i'll get a better offer before then.

oh absolutely. i would require that they paypal me like a week prior so i know it's cleared. but who knows, these folks might be scammers too. (they might be intending to bring a fake cashiers' check to the meeting)

i've contacted some local wig makers to see if they'd be willing to buy it. (and it's also helping me feel better by talking to a verified hair dealer, even if they aren't interested in buying it for as much as i'd like)

Wow, I had no clue there was so much money in cutting and selling hair! I can't imagine paying $3500 for much of anything. Laughing all the way to the bank indeed!

I have a question for those of you who regularly blow dry your hair. I just got a super nice cut for interview season and it doesn't look good at all unless I blow dry it straight with one of those giant cylindrical ceramic brushes and curl the ends under a bit. Once I have a job I expect I'll be wearing it this way everyday and I'm worried about frying my hair. On a youtube tutorial this girl added some heat protectant product before blow drying. Does that stuff actually work? Any other tips? My hair is super fine and delicate and breaks really easily. Right now the only things I do to it are henna and avalon organics shampoo/conditioner.

Supercarrot, thank you for posting all your details in how you color your hair. When we did my kid's hair yesterday I recalled what you had said about masking the shower with plastic wrap and I masked out the sink and thank goodness, because it would have been a horror show. THANK YOU THANK YOU. I never would have thought of that in a million years, and if it was stained ink-blue, i never EVER would have heard the end of it.

I just ordered some henna! This will be my first time trying it, and I'm pretty excited. I can't wait for it to get here, and to have a day off so I can sit around with green goop in my hair!

i put it on before bed and sleep in it. much easier.

I'm kinda taking your advice on this. I am currently sitting on my couch with a saran-wrapped head, which is not as weird as I thought it would be. The henna is heavy, which I did not expect! The goal is to sleep, but I'm not even remotely tired. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep, or if I'll just stay up stupidly late and wash it all out at 3 am. Hopefully I can get my camera and computer to play nicely so I can post pics in a few days!

Does anyone know how to do this hair style? Is it basically just like the :"french braid hairband" thing but pulled back further from the hairline?

well, i almost got $2500 for it, but the buyer wanted me to send photos of it secured with hair ties and CUT (!!!) before they send payment. no way no how! (also, their e-mail address was listed on this site as a scam, so i wasn't holding out hope anyway.) http://sellhairstore.com/avoid-scams/

My hair is a bit longer than my shoulders and hasn't been this long in three years. . . I've had short hair for almost my entire life, with random growing periods in between. I haven't had a haircut in a year now and I'm about to explode.

When my finances straighten out more, I really want a pixie cut. I've had pretty short hair before, like three inches. I've never had one or two inch pixie hair before, and I really want it now. I'm just afraid I can't pull it off because I'm a chunk with a round face. Hum.

I'm thinking of changing up my hairstyle. I'm thinking kind of like a long n' floppy on the top kind of thing. Not sure how to describe it, but kinda like a 90's Color Me Badd thing.

Me too, and I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair before having it so short. I brought in a picture of Jean Seberg too! :)

These days I've been wanting to dye it a fun color, pastel pink or lilac maybe. But I just got it cut, so it's only about an inch or two at its longest. I want to wait until my hair is a little longer before deciding if I really want to bother with dying it.
