Got some growing to do!

My friend recently did something similar to this. She has extremely long hair that goes down to around her butt, has two side cuts and a rainbow of colors from top to bottom. It's awesome but insane to maintain.

Guys, I need help! I'm cutting my hair tomorrow and I"m hoping to go short, but I have no idea what and I don't think I want to go super short (at least at first). Here's my hair as of about 2 months ago. Bad quality picture-my hair is a weird mix between brown and blonde that sometimes looks really highlighted blone but other times is kind of bland. Image

I really like this style, though I don't know that it'll look good on me. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/225743000047566063/

I'm also incredibly lazy about my hair but feel like I should put in a lot more effort. I have natural waves that I don't try and blow dry away, nor do I straighten but I'm willing to dry my hair and put some effort in and maybe some kind of products if needed?

I also kind of like this style. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/225743000047566086/

Bangs? I'm not a huge fan of them, the longer versions are nice enough.

I think it usually works best to go in with a few pictures of what you like and talk with the stylist. If they are someone who hasn't worked with your hair before or in a long time, explain how thick it is, what kind of curl it naturally has, how it tends to behave, how much effort and product you are willing to use, and ask what they suggest. I've been seeing the same stylist for about 9 months now, and she's been teaching me how to style my hair and use products at each visit. I'm getting better at it. I think that first style would look great on you lillianp! Good luck and please post pictures after you get it cut!

I'm a fan of the first pic, and the one Moon linked (which I think are pretty similar?). I think they would look great on you!

I'm getting my hair colored right now! I haven't had anything done to it in years (RIP, teal streak). I go to a place that's known for really cool, unnatural color and sitting here watching all this fabulous my little pony hair walk by is making me think I'm going to be disappointed in my subtle balayage. I hope it's not too subtle. I left things up to my stylist but I think I typically undersell how dramatic I want things to be. We'll see!

I think I might get some! My hair has been a little dry and frizzy lately even after not rinsing out all of my conditioner in the shower, so I think I need a leave-in. Do you gel your hair? If so, do you put the R&B on before or after?

oooh I don't gel my hair (or use anything really, usually it's scraped back so it's not worth the effort) but i'd think that it'd be good to put it in before the other products, and then let it settle in for a second so your other stuff doesn't just like, slide off??

Boober, your hair is absolutely awesome. I'm totally going to check out that conditioner; summertime is hell on my hair.

I seriously cannot recommend it enough, it took like 2 or 3 applications to fix the nightmare that my hair was before

Wow, Boober! So pretty.

I'm so fed up with my ~chin length hair right now. All it wants to do is hang straight down if I blow-dry it - or look very stupid and messy if I don't. I know my stylist said not to get bangs in the summer because I'll end up pinning them up again, but I *so* want some! After a bit of a trim it will be more Amélie than Mia Wallace, but I think I can do it!! Also need to refresh the green highlights.

I've been growing my hair out for a while now, and in the back it's around bra strap level (it would be a bit longer if I straightened it), but it's doing what I was afraid it would do - the weight of the length is pulling out the curl a bit. I really want to keep growing it quite long (maybe to the base of my back?), but if it keeps losing curl at its current rate I think I'll be sad. What should I do? I haven't had a trim in about 6 months, but it's pretty healthy because I never use heat or sulfites and I'm careful about how I put it up, so I haven't noticed any split ends. Has anyone with similar hair grown it out very long? The last time I had hair that long I was around 18 and my hair was totally different then. Maybe I should forget about growing it out and just cut some off to get back the curl? I know it sounds silly but I would really miss it if I lost the curl volume I've grown accustomed to.
