How do you mean worse? This is double the alcohol of the original sparks.
I have one in the fridge. I may keep it for christmas and share it with my nephew. He is always worried my heart will expolde from all the red bull I drink.

Blah, I make bad decisions, and I've drank my fair share of that crepe. I definitely prefer Sparks anyway. The grape was the only one I actually don't mind. Although I keep hearing that it is banned, but it's still everywhere..

Just curious, what was the % alcohol/caffeine in these things? They were trying to get a ruling passed in the Scottish Parliament recently about banning certain amounts of caffeine in alcoholic beverages but it didn't get passed due all the MSPs hating on each other and descending into a massive bunfight.

What is it? An alcoholic/caffeinated drink?

I saw a picture of this stuff on a friend's Facebook a couple of days ago. I have no idea what he was saying about it, but that was the first I heard of it. I didn't know what it actually was until this thread.

It's like they suddenly figured out putting uppers and downers in a can together was a bad idea. How can it be?

wait, I thought Sparks was banned or discontinued or something? Four Loko is definitely gone from Boston, there are signs up at all the liquor stores and everything.

This girl I work with drinks this every time we're out. I tried some, and it tasted like pepto bismol. Horrid.

It has all the energy drink stuff-Taurine, Guarana, caffeine, paint thinner, 9 days worth of niacin, kerosene, gremlin slime, you know all the good stuff.
I saw one report that says it has 135 mg of caffeine in a can. That isn't very much. I just drank a 19 oz red bull that has almost 200. I would easily drink that with 5-6 shots of tequila, over the course of a night.
Some states have banned it, most have not. They have to change the formula by the end of the month to have no caffeine.

** everyone knows I was kidding about the niacin, right?

Because NY liberals hate the freedom to drink a 6 pack worth of alcohol and two cups of coffee in a single beverage!

Sounds brilliant and like just what i need!

I'm not sad to see it go because I could go my whole life without seeing what happens when a 100 lb. girl drinks a couple ever again. Sigh. Not smart. Also the concoction some "friends" of mine grew fond of (with various names that I'm not going to repeat because they're offensive/racist) of drinking half a forty of malt liquor and pouring a 4loko in it and then drinking it. College is not a classy stage of life. Sigh.

Mixing regular Malt liquor with any thing is bound to end up in disaster!

I had some this weekend. I wasn't impressed with the taste, but one of my friends drank her whole can. She was a hero.

all of these are either a single drink with a lot of alcohol or a lot of caffeine, the ones you mix you are mixing and can control how much. i think it is very different than having it all in one can and marketing it towards a young crowd.

i tried fourloko once about a year and a half ago, it was nasty.
this is why you should not drink four loko

I have a lot of 9/11 anxiety and that graphic is kind of a weird form of therapy for me. Thanks for the laugh.

Also, +1 to this:

Here in Texas, the worry is that jr high kids honestly don't understand that it's not just an energy drink. A girl was killed when she and her friends downed 4Lokos and then crashed a car on the highway. I was argued with when I told the kids "Just another tragic example of why you should never ever drink and drive." They said it was just an energy drink. I had to pull up the websites and show them alcohol content and educate them about how to tell if a drink has alcohol. This drink is banned because kids latched onto it and had no comprehension of what it actually meant.

I wouldn't blame any establishment that refused to mix an energy drink with alcohol, so I'm not exactly mad at the banning of Four Loko. Plus, it's gross.

Ugh, will not miss this stuff! It's like sweet tarts on acid... and more acid.

But in other news, they've started making alcoholic whipped cream. WUT. http://www.boston.com/news/source/2010/11/have_your_cream.html?rss_id=Top+Stories
