I downloaded the Candy Crush app onto my phone yesterday and played non-stop until I died on level 27.
This app is ruining my life.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Dear God! I just, I don't even feel like it's ruining my life so much as it's just a habit where I get on, play two or three times, don't clear the jelly, and mope around about being a failure. I've been on level 147 for ?? days? I have no idea. Over a month.

The comment about it ruining my life comes from it being a huge time suck and I just downloaded it.

As a side, a coworker mentioned his brother is on level 315 and he has been playing for a year so hang in there? :)

I've been playing this nonstop for the last few weeks. I'm currently waiting to jump through the hoops between levels 50 and beyond. I hate waiting three days to complete all the stupid challenge levels, but I can't bring myself to pay to move forward.

Some of my coworkers admitted to paying for extra moves, lives..etc. which is crazy bananas too me.
I bet this company is making a mega ton from those purchases.

Yeah, that's where I draw the line. I will not pay for it. (Makes it sound so dirty.)

My mom always complains about one of her co-workers playing, and I'm like MOM! You don't understand!!

I've been stuck on this level for over a month too! It makes me not want to play anymore!

Guys! you can ask facebook friends for tickets and lives!
I've been stuck on 153 for like, 3 months. I took about a 6 week break and just started trying again but I get too discouraged. So annoying.
So now I play words with friends.

I hate you guys. I was totally pitched off the iPhone game recovery bandwagon with this stupid discovery. The good thing is, I'm REALLY bad. So I've had the app for about 20 minutes and I'm already frustrated.

I just forking finally finished 181 last night. I've been stuck on that for over a month and had almost lost interest in playing then finally was half playing while waiting for food to cook and next thing I knew I had finished it.

My only consolation has been that I'm at a higher level than most of my students. Hah. I've been telling them to put their game away unless they can tell me how to beat that level.

I got to level 162 and I gave up. Within the various sections, there are usually a couple levels that make you mad and take a zillion tries and others that are higher level that seem easy. I got to level 162 and decided enough was enough.

There is an easy way to "trick" the game into getting lives without waiting or getting them from friends...
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/0 ... 12493.html
(change the time on your device ahead a few hours, go back to CC to see the lives refreshed, go back and fix the time, play the game)

But yeah. This game is pretty much the best/worst thing of all time. I'm at a point where everything seems too hard to even enjoy... yet, I can't stop playing.

Ditto stuck on 147. It's only been a week-ish, so I'm not totally discouraged. Yet.

I've kind of list interest now that it takes me several weeks to get through each level.
I'm on level 123 and I kind don't care anymore.
I play hidden object games on my phone now so my time suck has just migrated to that

I refuse to play this game because I have witnessed too many cracked out people on the train playing with the volume at full blast and it ruins my peaceful train ride. EVERY TIME! Turn the freaking volume down people!!

This is just a money-sucking bejeweled knock off. I read a review that said some levels are not winnable depending on your random starting configuration. That completely fits with my frustration that I would win certain levels immediately, while others I would be stuck on for days (as I refuse to pay for extra lives, boosts, etc). I would definitely recommend paying the $5 or whatever it is for bejeweled (regular, not blitz, which is free) - it's a much better game.

There is a luck component, for sure. You can do it without paying anything, but the game is a distasteful money grab.

As mentioned, you can play without paying.

Because there are popups and windows asking you to buy stuff all the time. Monetization takes precedence over user experience, and the prices of some options are jaw dropping.

I really do not like this IAP trend. I'd rather just pay for the game.

It is not a coincidence that it was developed by a gambling company. It's set up using a lot of the same psychological principles.
