I think a stuffy, un-stylish suit and tie would definitely loose you points with a lot of jobs. However, if you are wearing clothes cut nice and tight, with high quality fabric, and a slim matte tie, I think you will hella earn points. When I dress dapper, I get a lot of positive attention, and I always dress as such in interviews.

For my interview yesterday, I wore a sky blue shirt, yellow and blue tie, and khaki pants. That wound up being average compared to other applicants. Some applicants wore suits, but really... that's the first interview where I've seen that. Oh, and the interviewer had a slightly worn tweed suit that was straight out of the 70s. I want it in my size! Just kidding. Unfortunately, it's prob wool.

There was also a woman wearing a professional looking dress. Sorry I don't have more to report Butternut, I'm not great with women's fashion.
