I should be re-reading my first virtual assignment on King Arthur and writing why one of my answers is valid so my professor can give me a grade on it. I hate rereading my writing, so I've been putting this off longer than anything else. Yak. Sounds like you should be getting yourself over to the no hugs thread and stop putting all this stuff off!

I am no sissy! I have already read half a book and finished some note cards. AND did the dishes. Bam. That's like, less than 1/4 of my list. I'm golden.

...and I'm still not done with those virtual assignments. It's just so hard when you have to do research on the internet. There are so many distractions.

If you're researching journal articles, I find it helps if you print them out, close your computer for a bit and just read/highlight/make notes on paper. Or download a procrastination application that blocks certain websites for a certain period of time...like SelfControl if you're on a Mac. Good studies!

I HAVE to do this if I want to be able to read the articles! I get way too distracted when they're online. As for me, I have the ultimate procrastination fail. I need two years of a college foreign language and I (stupidly) assumed my French skills from 9 years ago would be just as strong. I took a placement test and tested into 101! If I want to graduate on time, I have to study up hard over the summer and test into 201 by fall....

Ohhh goodness. Reminds me of how much I have to catch up on. I'm not entirely sure if I'll be graduating on time either. It's summer school for me!
But for now, I read. Because it's Reading Week! Is anyone else on their break now? =)

Okay, I am leaving you, Internetland, to go: a) put away and fold my clothes b) clean the cat box c) finish my drawing homework d) start a new illustration. Hold down the fort, PPKers! When I come back I expect this place to be better than when I left it. ; )

I'm actually going to graduate this year! I know that I'm going to need a good month to recover after I'm done. So many all nighters.

My goal was to stay out of this thread this semester, but here I am. I just had a really stressful day and was looking forward to *finally* laying down, chilling out, and going to bed, happy that I didn't have any homework to do on top of everything else that was going on this evening.
Then... I remembered I have an exam tomorrow... that I haven't studied even a little for.

You guys, I am so stressed/overwhelmed. I'm a music therapy student, and I have a big assignment due in class tomorrow where I have to sing and play the guitar for two songs in a music therapy simulation. Last week, I was changing the strings on my guitar, and I broke a bridge pin (the part that holds the strings in). Then earlier, I was trying to tune my guitar up, when I broke a string. I went to replace it, and broke that string. Then I broke a different string. I don't have anymore backups. Currently, I have a 4 string guitar (out of 6 strings) and I can't practice the music I'm supposed to have learned for tomorrow. I'm screwed.

So . . . I woke up the next morning with the flu. Guess that fixes that.

I need to do a paper outline, but I'm so not into it. I think because it seems so easy and I know what I'm going to say (I even dreamed about it this morning, and planned it out in my dream.), and I also need to make an annotated bibliography, but I need to sit down and collect my sources and I juuuuuust doooon't waaaaant tooooooo......

I stand back in awe of my bibliography. I cringe at my actual content. I did not pull an all-nighter -- they seem to just make things worse.

My goal is to not do an all nighter this weekend. Women's studies essay on sex trafficking. Trying to start my research early, trying to go to bed earlier to have productive days, trying to break the cycle...it can be done!! We can help each other!!

Ugh. I have drafts for 3 papers due this week and an oral argument in class on Thursday. I have no idea what I'm doing on the brief draft due tomorrow for my guardian ad litem class. It is optional, but I would like to make sure I'm on the right track since it is my final for the class and 50% of my grade...and I don't know what she wants. My child abuse motion in limine shouldn't be too bad, but it is just added stress between the draft and the oral argument. And then I have a paper on pornography and obscenity laws that I am just sick of because there has been so much material out there to research and I don't feel like it is focused enough. so much stress!

I just pulled an all-nighter, ostensibly because I had that much work to do on a funding application, but...I was nerding around on the Internet for a bunch of it, too.
As one of my dear friends puts it, "Why is our 21st century computer also the Everything Machine?!"
I kinda like that feeling of happy tired when you've done it and gotten your work done. I do still have to work later today but I'll nap first.

My completed thesis is due Thursday, I still have to do a bit of back and forth with my advisor on it before then. The bulk is done. DONE! But I just can't write the intro. I've written 60 pages, spent uncountable hours researching, done thorough, careful, good work. And I can't write a forking introduction! AH!!!

How is your intro going, j-dub?
what is your new topic, catfish?
I got to class yesterday after having spent a ton of time trying to figure out my draft and the professor announced that she decided to give us another week to work on it. fork. because she couldn't have told us sooner?
In the meantime, 2 drafts due tomorrow...I went to Starbucks to work and there were no tables. So I'm back at home. Someone kick my asparagus into gear, please. My goal for my pornography/obscenity draft is 5-10 pages (25 page paper final) and 2-3 pages for my child abuse paper (final length 8-10). Gah.

Ouf, I knew I'd be back here. Trying to try to work on a 15 pager for the worst class I've ever taken in my life. Re-learning a bunch o' shiitake so I can make a dent in this...and only THEN can I MAYBE study for the 2 exams I have next week. Anyone know anything about media performance audits? I have never had a prof teach such dry, dense materials until they became even DRIER.

I'm still thinking of a new topic! I think something about dialects and the way they express time differently from the "official" language...
Good luck to everyone with their work! And a special good luck to Jdub. Intros can be really hard! If all else fails, outline what you talk about in the paper?

something that didn't need to be an all nighter just turned in to an all nighter because I consumed too much caffeine and I'm already so stressed about school that my brain is just like "nope."

man, yesterday I was working on my pornography/obscenity paper and listening to Eminem. I thought it was hysterical, which is probably a sign that I have lost it.
Today: human rights abuses in Tunisia take home final. A law school exam on current events? no way. Something relevant to modern life? you've got to be kidding me.
