The fun parts of that other thread that got locked...

2 things immediately come to mind: a Guess bodysuit (why did I want to have to unsnap something in my crotch to pee?)
Platform converse.

Oh, and for some reason I was really into rap that was SUPER inappropriate for me to be listening to - Too Short and 2 Live Crew. My friend gave me the tapes..why did he have them?! we were like 9!

Ha! Rapping Baby idji!

I really liked Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho when I was 18. Like I read it multiple times and found it great. I tried to read it recently and it was just horrible.

Bugs. Once, I thought they were soooo fascinating and could watch them for hours. Now they just freak me out. I had to get an earwig out of the shower an hour ago and I'm STILL scared to go into the bathroom.

When I was in first grade, my favourite outfit consisted of:
-those black lace-up heeled sneakers from the other thread
-teal leggings with black polkadots
-a neon purple cropped t-shirt, with a dolphin on it, that was fringed along the bottom
Why???

I also went through an Alice Cooper-makeup phase when I was in seventh grade. While I ditched the lines after about five months, there was a LOT of eyeliner on my face for two more years. Why did no one sit me down and say "hey, you look stupid, but we all make mistakes. Go wash your face?"

PLATFORM SNEAKERS. I had ones that may have been exactly these:

Plus a bunch more. Why? They were SO heavy! I couldn't play on the playground in them because I couldn't run or jump or climb!

Furby! And they're somehow even scarier now! And it looks so inappropriate:

Oh, god. I had one of these but it was Betty Boop and she was inexplicably wearing a giant Rastafarian hat and possibly also shortalls? I wore it to my friend's birthday party at the roller rink and gave her an Ace of Base cassette.

When I was a kid I was OBSESSED with saddle shoes for some reason. That's all I would ever wear.

i had a bunch of souvenir shirts from beaches in maine that were baggy and long, but with an elastic waist, and they had fringe on the hem and the sleeves. my #1 favorite had an airbrushed picture of a fluffy white cat's head in semi-profile next to a single long-stemmed red rose. i'd wear that and put a bunch of those feather clips in my hair and feel like a forking rock star. like, watch out, jem, because there's a new cat in town, and it's on my awesome shirt, and we will battle your band any day of the week.

Heeled sneakers have been back in style for a couple years now. I think the ones with stiletto heels look ridiculous but I might wear some of the wedge heels if I were shorter.

Also, saddle shoes are awesome and classic.

Also, Furbies freaked me out as a kid and they still freak me out now. I cannot and I never could.

I feel like unsnapping something in your crotch to pee is the kind of thing that boxers-wearers deal with regularly?

I had flared jeans with a strip of camouflage material down the sides. Not to brag or anything.

Haha! I think I am a couple years older than you but Inappropriate Rap was the best! I don't know how we got hold of the tapes either. I still know all the words to Eazy-E's whole Eazy Duz It album. I also now have Too Short stuck in my head. They call you yuck mouth - you refuse to brush!

Also, Guess everything. Jeans, sweaters, shirts, jackets, overalls, slouchy socks with the little red triangle and question mark! This all matched my giant crunchy bangs that were soaked with Freeze and Shine.

Also also, do Melissa shoes count as jellies?

I had jelly shoes. They were SO uncomfortable and so cute.

Dalmatian-print leggings and a red t-shirt with a Dalmatian and fire truck on it. Worn at the same time, obviously.

In non-fasion news, I used to really love to pick horseshoe crabs up by their stingers! Well, I guess it's not a stinger but a tail. But back then I thought it was a stinger.

I had a mini mouse back to front shirt too. I wore 3 different colored plastic headbands all at once and wondered why my head hurt....plus I wore a braided pink and white cloth headband on my forehead which left a mark. Plus said headband could also be woven in my hair in a braid. I wore baby blue leggings and had these pink pants with zippers everywhere, and a dark pink vest to go with that.

Spoilered for gross and very very un-vegan

Ugh! That reminds me of how I used to go fishing using just a string, hook, and muscle clam hearts as bait. It was actually a thing adults taught us ho to do, grabbing a live muscle off a rock! And I thought it was so cool?

My BFF and I got matching outfits in 7th grade: black stirrup pants, ginormous purple t-shirts with lace at the bottom, purple socks, and black flats. We also got matching book bags for school (same design, different colors). We were the shiz.

Baby blue satin running shorts with white piping, a pink velour t-shirt and rainbow suspenders. What was I thinking?

Also, I went through a phase when I wanted to try to be different and funky (to compensate for my dorky glasses and braces with elastics), so I divided my hair into four quadrants and braided each quadrant. So I basically had four weird little braids sticking out of my head. If I remember correctly, that was the same period that I started obsessively wearing an official MLB Phillies jacket with baggy jeans with a button at the hem. Yep. I was popular, let me tell you.

Most of the outfits in this thread are making me think of a slightly more conservative Claudia Kishi!
And who wouldn't want her as a fashion idol? After all, on Claud, things that on anyone else would look stupid, looked totally cool.
