There's no easy way to say it. I'm going to change PPK and the forums are going away!

I'm transferring everything to IsaChandra.com, except for the forums. There will be a way to discuss recipes and stuff, but the forums as we know them, will be kaput.

I can keep them live for awhile so everyone can adjust and plan and say goodbye and we can have a farewell party.

As you all must notice, I've been focused on the restaurants lately and I can't maintain PPK anymore. Nothing lasts forever! But we will kind of last forever because all the recipes will be transferred over and I'll be able to put recipes up more often in the next few months. I'm also planning on doing more cooking videos and things like that.

Anyway, this wasn't an easy decision! And I don't know if it's the right decision. But I'm just following my heart. And I hope you will all come with me to the new site! It will be really pretty. And I hope we can reminisce a little and tip a kombucha 40 to 14 years of the PPK. Boob thread. We Didn't Start The Fire 2007. Wihoq. And just everything.

Love to you all!!!!!

Love you Isa <3 These forums are what helped me go vegan 9 years ago but it clearly is dying. I appreciate many people who are here and who haven't been here for years that helped keep me sane.

Thank you for everything, Isa! Hat tip to all the mods, past and present. Also, thank you for providing a place for people to gather such wonderful IRL friends.

Everyone put some garlic in your underpants to reminisce.

It's been fun! Good work everyone!

I will forgive you if you let me sleep on your couch and crash your restaurant.

Bummer! But I got a cool spouse out of it, so I guess you're forgiven. Hopefully we'll see you soon!

p.s. I hope the new site is as pretty as your hair.

1. I just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we do have a facebook group, not super active, but it's there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2226576812/ (I try to keep randos out so if we aren't friends or don't have any mutual friends PM me to let me know you asked to join so I don't ignore you.)
2. I guess we better hurry up and plan a final PPK gathering. Who has the biggest house?

So these forums will always exist, or will IsaChandra.com have forums also? I'd def. move there

This is good news, change is good. This has always been a great community and I'd love to see it restarted somewhere else. Facebook is fun for socializing, but forums are the perfect medium for this group.

I think she's saying, she's moving the site content, but not the boards, and the boards here will eventually close because someone has to host them.

Aw, I love these forums. I know I'm not an original member or anything but I still have loved the four years or so I've been here and I'll be super sad to see them go.

This is sad to hear. I'm not really a longstanding member or anything, but I'll miss the forum here. I think it seems like the message board as a form of communication is dying out... which majorly sucks. I've grown up using message boards and I don't like these newfangled social media websites!

Also, this

for some reason is the thread that brought me here. I wanted a yeast infection to test it out for ages. I finally got one and tried it, and it was awful.

Will there be a best-of thread before the end? What needs to be saved?

I went to the PPK, and all I got was a handful of lifetime friends. Thanks for the love and memories everyone

Something I just realized: I can start a PPK discord server. If you're not that kind of nerd, Discord is a free chat program that uses text and voice, so it won't cost me a dime and I don't really have to do anything. Standard 'don't be a dick' rules would apply but since most of the work we do now is fending off spambots I think it'll be fine. Any takers?

ETA: You don't HAVE to do voice, they also have a mobile app. You can make different channels and mute the ones you don't like so if you think it would be too overwhelming for you, it won't be.

I joined the PPK when I was 17 and now I'm 29 so I actually don't know how to be an adult without it, that's gonna be weird!

Even though I am hardly on the forums anymore, I'm sorry to see it go.

I've met wonderful people here and many are friends for life. (even if I never met them irl)

This is super sad. I know I'm not an old-school PPK'er but this forum has really helped me in rough times. I hope I can keep in touch with some of you guys <3
