A small handful of people are continuing to post on reddit, most people just vanished altogether. Ah well.

It's so sad. I wish there had never been an announcement that it was going away because it hasn't gone away! Couldn't we have had a two month notice period or something? Rather than this horrible limbo. The PPK is here, but not here.

I think it's sad as well. For a community that shaped a lot of vegan trends, spawned numerous cookbook authors and more, it's sad to see it with tumbleweeds. I wish the folks holding it down in the Wild West of the Internet (reddit) would come back.

I feel partially responsible bc I posted on Facebook that the forum had died and I guess some people thought it never came back.

Wasn't it Jellyanne Conway who first said "the PPK is dying?"

So does anyone have any ideas about how we can bring it back? Perhaps everyone who uses it post to facebook that the PPK is still alive, not kicking, but limping along. Perhaps someone with Mod powers can send an email from the PPK letting all users know that its here but we keep reddit going as a fall back?

I just checked back in and WHOA: people are here! Hurray! I will come back, too, for as long as that's an option!

I'm glad the forum is still here!

For people to really come back, it would help to have an idea of the situation. As long as there is an expectation that the forum will close soon, it will not be very motivating for many members to start posting here again.

The Goodreads group is going kind of well.

This is exactly why I have been posting on Reddit instead of here. I miss our more detailed discussions on cooking, recipes, vegan shopping and gardening, but our community is now fragmented. The Reddit forum keeps us connected but it is more designed for short-term news-type sharing as opposed to building knowledge and expertise overtime.

The PPK Goodreads group is fantastic! People are sharing and there is such diverse talent. Great posts!

I think someone said the board is closed to new sign-ups so we wouldn't get any kfishers anyway.

(misunderstanding humour since... forever)

Well Isa promised us a farewell party, but we all know she's kind of busy so my guess would be that's why. No one wants to just close it up suddenly one day.

(Maybe she'll just forget we're here.)

This all seems very harsh ... I do not want to speak with fellow vegans elsewhere ... I am used to it here!

I feel I know some of you so well ... sigh

Is there nothing we can do to save this place? Although to be fair it does bear Isa's name ...

I am now registered on Purely Vegan but it lacks the clean cut lines of here ...

Anne who is unhappy & going to look for chocolate ....

Stay here for now! Fingers crossed Isa won't actually delete this place for a while...sooo we can try to pretend her announcement never happened!
