No. It's not that long yet. The longest length is almost mid back right now. She said it works on medium to long hair so I think it would work, but probably not as dramatic as hers.
I've done something similar to the braid wrap several weeks ago. I'm kinda wanting to have more dramatic hairstyles. I was getting bored with the way I was always styling my hair the same.

You guys make me seriously consider getting dreads! My husband hates them, but maybe we can work something out. After all, it's my head. xD

Has anyone tried the baking soda and acv cleanse on youtube? bronzegoddess01 and chescalocs. I want to try it except I dont have acv, just white vinegar. If I dilute it really really well I could use it right? If I make sure to moisturize after?

here's the dreadlock filter on the no-poo community on livejournal. http://no-poo.livejournal.com/tag/dreadlocksseems like it works for some of them. p.s. white vinegar should be fine. but it might moisturize too much. make sure to rinse really really well, or your locks might loosen. if you have a whole foods near you, get their name brand ACV. it's faaaaantastic! and it has the least vinegar scent i've discovered. (heinz is atrocious)

I love dreads, but my hair is way too thin to do them myself. I'm resigned to simply admiring them on others.
There's a vendor that comes to my store a couple times a month, and I have dubbed him "sexy dreads guy". Because, ya know. Sexy dreads.

I'm starting to think more seriously about dreading my hair. If I do it, I want thin dreads... and I have a lot of hair so I'm guessing it would take forever to put them in! Do I need to take a week off work and recruit assistants? I'm okay with having to cut my hair off if I do it and then want them out. I've had super short hair before and I liked it. Here's a photo of my hair... it's an inch or two longer now. It's smooth and straight, but pretty thick (hair people always comment on how much of it there is). What would be the best way to dread it? I'm not sure how well it would go over at work, but they can't fire me for it. And I can still totally do business casual with dreads so I think it would be okay.

Pi, if you're willing to cut your hair short, then you should do it! I wish I had tried dreads before cutting all of my hair off. I love my hair short but I had always wanted to try dreads. Doooo thin ones and recruit assistants. No half measures! Your friends will always take partial credit for your pretty hair and you'll have pretty hair. Win-win.

Also, I like when people have fringes/bangs with dreads, but I think you will look very professional either way.

I should have posted this pic here instead of the user image thread. My dreads are coming along, I think.

I just re-read some of this.. For washing hair (and not having any gunk stick to it), we use black soap (from Ghana). It leaves the roots nourished and no residue..

I don't know if these are good for African dreaded hair, but they work awesome on my Caucasian dreadies. http://shop.dreadlockshampoo.com/They're all vegan, residue-free. I love the bar soap, it's so easy to use. They smell lovely, and last a long time. Plus the lady is really nice.
