So who wants me to be their awesome roommate and even awesomer pal? Currently accepting applications for anywhere in the US and potentially even Canada, bonus points to people who spend lots of time at home and who would like company and who live in places with really cheap rent.
Awesome things I can add to a household: Hella good snuggles, Really good handyman, Pickles, Really cute fluffy dog, Awesome underwear dance times, Pretty great mixed drinks...

Oh my god, it's like we were meant to be together. Sadly, the roommate position in my life has already been filled. I hope you find someone who will appreciate the snuggles <3

When are you looking to move? One of my roommates might be leaving to live with her fiance whenever he gets around to moving to the country, which may or may not be within months.

Monetarily it'll probably take me a while to get to any point to actually move. But feelin' pretty damned itchy for some change.

This makes me wish I didn't live in a studio!
Although if you decide to move to SF, one of my friends is a very sweet trans lady who would really like to move out of her current SRO situation and into an actual apartment, but keeps feeling like anywhere she interviews is very anti-trans. I know you would be a respectful roommate. So that's there if you're interested!

DC, I have a friend who is moving to the bay area in the summer and they're genderqueer and super respectful of all peoples and would be a super awesome roommate for your friend. But it sounds like your she wants to get out sooner than summer, so if she's on Facebook, she should check out the group Gay Area Housing. Lots of trans-friendly queer folks there! (if she can't find the group or something, you can PM me or tell her to contact me-janice lorenzana- on fb and I'll add her to the group.

I would love it if you would come live with me, in Alberta, Canada. But I don't know if I can wait very long for a roommate. Actually I have never had a room mate, except for my husband before we seperated, and, of course, my kid. I live in a teeny-tiny town as well, don't know how into it you'd be? My 10 year old daughter would live here half the time as well. But it is beautiful here, I have a HUGE yard and fruit trees, outbuildings (we could make smoked tofu!) and an abundance of tranquility and quiet.

Hmm, some interesting proposals! Sadly most seem like theres no way I'd get myself ready in time. Stupid money!
Also, yeah, not sure I could do the small town thing. I wish you luck though 1strangegirl!

Friend and I have sort of talked about moving in together, we're both looking for cheap as I may be going back to school. That being said, cheap is very very relative here. In that it's not really cheap at all. (Low end is ~650-700 a piece)

I fully support roommates-as-friends. My last roommate and I were really close...we'd drink, and hang, and fork, and I'd occasionally crawl under him and use him as a blanket when the crazy was a-stormin. Actually, I think he started thinking of us as having an open relationship, which was awkward, but then he stopped paying rent. New roommate isn't quite so close - we've never forked, and are only drunk together by coincidence, but he's pretty chill. He's also struggling to pay his rent, though, and even so, plans to move out in July or so. What I do, and where I go will depend on work. I can't have a dog where I'm at, which is a bummer, and it's upstairs, which I don't care for. I'd rather deal with a minotaur above me than be someone's constantly forking minotaur. And moving stuff up and down stairs sucks. I keep thinking about moving to Seattle, because I love it there, but it would mean another Bar exam, and I still don't know how to start moving towards my career goals here, much less there. So if you wanna come to San Diego, or Seattle, or where ever I end up, I think we'd be pretty good roommates, if you're cool with the Take A Number ticker on my bedroom door. I always pay my rent and bills on time, don't usually party during the week, and don't care if you eat my food. Don't even really like the idea of individual food stores, though I get how that can lead to trouble.

Asheville is like mini-eastern-Portland so you should come here! This summer I'm likely to be moving and looking for maybe a house with roommates!

New York Times says Nashville is the place to be this year, jussayin. East Nashville is a pretty rad place. People call it a mini-Portland.

I've heard great things about it for sure, and I'm quite fond of the idea of the south.
