Ummmm two Dark Knights have lead me to my sad state. Bourbon barrel aged stout. Apparently BeerAdvocate users rate it a 96/100 - I agree! http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1168/11482/

Me! Anyone else? No? Ugh I don't want to work tomorrow.

I make poor choices sometimes.

me too, Moon! And I have to work tomorrow, too!

I know this is totally snobby, but I just got denied to study literature at a university, so I'm all snobby and hurty and grumpy.
This cute dude on okcupid managed to get me interested enough to send a message. Half his profile is boasting about his English degree from the school I left for a variety of reasons.
So I say, "Hey, you're a fan of the romantics!" as he named four different authors from that period in the five he listed. Thinking, 'we're both obnoxious about loving lit!'
His response? "Romantic...what?"
"Writers. Romantic WRITERS." If you spend most of your profile bragging about your fancy forking English BA, that should not be your response. Jesus. I cannot believe THIS GUY has a BA in English and I can't even get into a decent program to finish mine, even though I can tell you all about the difference between romanticism and transcendentalism, detail what led to postmodernism as a literary form, explain why Teresea Hak Kyung Cha was a brilliant woman who should be studied more often in interdisciplinary studies (my last thesis was on her work, 'Dictee'), spend hours telling you everything you never cared to know about Hemingway, and drunkenly talk most people under the table on late 19th century American lit, Hamlet, and Hans Christian Andersen's influence on fairy tales and children's literature.

Yes, yes I know this is so, SO snobby, PPK, and I almost hate myself for it. But damnit, I was denied and he has my degree and I am grumpy! And this is the drunk thread! So I hope someone finds this funny!

In the cold light of day I can see from the peel that it was an orange. It must just have been really sour! Damn energy-saving lightbulbs.

Me! I'm drunk and this never happens. Thank you to Portland for having a heat wave and forcing me out into the world. Our apt is hot as hell and the concert venue a few blocks away is not! Wahoooo!

but the NOW here is not the NOW now ... I know you know what that means ... but we stopped in at a friend's last evening where I had two gin & tonics ... my husband just had tonic water as he was doing the driving ... anyway our host pours freehand! does not measure the drink so I watch, eyes widening as he liberally poured, must have been at least four ounces into my glass, lots of ice, hardly any room for tonic & lemon ... we were walking around his property admiring the garden & before I knew it, I had drunk all of it and had accepted another ... whew ...
