I don't like not knowing whether I already formed an opinion on you! How am I supposed to be judgmental and unforgiving if you all can just up and change your name like you haven't said something in the past to make me detest you/want to hump you already?
At least for a month, can we have people have their old screen names in their sigs? Maybe longer - I can be unobservant. And if I'm gonna keep it real - avatars too. I identify a good number of you folks by avatar alone and name changing and avatar changing is too much whoa.

Yes, this would be very helpful. I am reading threads but have no idea who is saying what, as of right now a lot of you are as known as strangers to me!

But what if you'd already decided to detest me and now is my chance to start over and move to the humping category?
Later, of course, I'd reveal the truth, but you'd be so charmed and impressed with my honesty that it wouldn't matter.
Besides, I didn't say much on the old boards. I've resolved to become incredibly verbose.

Yes, it is pretty confusing not knowing who everyone is!

Yes! I like to know who's who (on ppk). I don't mind avatars, though...as long as the name is there.
btw, I changed my A to an a.

I chose name in sig AND avatar for 2 weeks, but I would also be happy with name in sig OR old avatar for 2 weeks. Or forever.

Old name in your signature, definitely. I have it in mine. I don't know who to love and who the judge if I don't know who you are!

Old name in sig for a month, don't care what happens with avatars. I know "certain" people by name.

I have name in sig and am keeping avatar temporarily. I chose that but since we could choose two I also chose shut up bossy. Cause I thought it was funny and I was kind of talking to myself with that.

I've only finished the one I brought home. The other 3 Dusseldorfs still await their freedom!

I totally gave up even attempting to read the name change thread so if it's not in the signature, I'm not going to know it. Avatars help, but the name in the sig is working for me.

On a different note, I keep expecting the sig to be lower..under the box, so I have to look twice like every time.

I had that thing 4 years! But now I need to figure out what picture to use. Just want to use a lycophyte picture maybe becasue they are darling little plants but I've not found many pics I'm particularly attached to and my camera wont take good enough pics to produce one myself. I'd like creeping ground cedar I think, if I can find it. Just not Isoetes. Quillworts aren't as cuddly looking!

I voted Yes, put your old name in your sig. At least for awhile. Even a cleaned up name change thread is a little cumbersome. I also voted No, bossy. Which is directed more at myself because I know it's not my place to demand that other people do my bidding. Doesn't mean I can't ask, though.

If you changed your name and it's not in your sig, I have no clue who you are. I keep forgetting, so reading the name change thread won't help any.

I voted sig and avatar. Sadly, I'm not even doing what I'd like others to do but I'm blaming that on my being out of town. But, as soon as I get home I will put my old avatar in my profile.

I respect people's right to decide how important it is to them that I know who they are as long as nobody makes fun of me or takes it personally if I don't know. If you put your name in your sig, I'm more likely to know who you are/were. If you don't, maybe I'll recognize your avatar, maybe not. If you have a name that's similar to 8 other people's names, maybe I'll go on thinking you're all the same person. If it's not a big deal to you whether it's easy to know who you are, that's cool and I respect that.

If people who changed their username significantly don't care that they may not be recognized than I don't care either. I've read through the entire name change thread, and there is just no way I'm going to remember that all off the top of my head.
