I lived in Houston. At first I thought it was cool because I never lived in a big city and there was stuff to do! with a kid! Then after awhile I couldn't find any mommy friends who wouldn't go on and on about "all the damn illegals" and I got prank calls because people thought I was an illegal, I have a sorta-hispanic sounding last name. Some people must have a lot of time to look up numbers in the phone book to harrass. The doctors at the childrens hospital sucked, my kid was another number and they berated me instead of helping us. So I moved back to hippydippyville and love it.

I knew a guy from Detroit when my husband was in the Navy. I only know he was from Detroit because he would randomly yell "Detroit!" and do some sort of motion with his hands that he thought that was cool.
