I have hardwoods for the first time ever and I still don't wear shoes in the house. But my floors are never cold because of my heating system (radiant hot water... there are even noticeably warm patches of floor when the system is circulating.) I keep them swiffer-vac'd pretty often, though, because I have a long-haired dog and the drifts of dog hair form pretty quickly! Kind of made me realize how inadequate vaccuuming carpet weekly is... at least if you have shedding animals.

I hate shoes in the house. They come off as soon as I walk in the door. My dad and brother-in-law never take their shoes off so they track snow, ice, and sometimes dirt everywhere and get mad when the rest of us yell at them. We have carpet in some rooms, linoleum in the kitchen. It sucks to walk over ice or snow when you're barefoot. Even worse if you're wearing socks because you can't just dry them off and go back to normal. Hate.

Whenever I go to other people's houses I feel better if I leave my shoes on unless they have a rule to not wear shoes all over the house.

When it's my home I take them off first things I do in the same spot every time or else I will forget were they are.

I can't stand being barefoot any where though so I always have to at least have socks on. Except the occasional times I go swimming.

The wearing shoes in the house thing is something I don't understand. Why would you want to track dirt through your house? Needless to say, shoes are off at the door. But everyone does that here, I've never been in a house where people wore their shoes inside!

I definitely take them off at the door if they're snowy or wet or very dirty. Otherwise, they'll come off in unpredictable locations.

Same here! I can't stand when the skin on my feet feels dry, so I need a barrier to keep the moisture in. If I'm sitting on the beach I have to dig my feet into the sand to get to the moister sand.

Me neither! I can't go to sleep if my feet feel dry.

In the summer I don't mind keeping my shoes on, but in the winter it's off at the door. I refuse to make more mopping work for myself. Stupid winter.

I forget to take my shoes off and just sit around in them. Then I'll think why am I still wearing my shoes? Even then I might keep them on.

I only grudgingly wear shoes if absolutely necessary.
Weekends when we just visit family/do grocery shopping I go barefoot, otherwise it's jandals all the way unless it's really cold.
And yup, whatever footwear is on comes off as soon as I get to the front door, for sure!

Count me in as a part of the must-wear-shoes-at-all-times crowd. I hate when I have to take them off at other people's houses. In fact, there are certain people whose houses I avoid because of their no-shoe policy. That makes me sound like a grumpy, shoe-wearing hermit. I swear I'm not! Well...maybe I'm not.

You wear-shoes-all-the-time people are missing out on the simple joy of taking your shoes off at the end of a work day and how good that feels! Oh boy that feels good. Kind of like when you take your bra off after wearing it all day, amiright, folks with boobs?

Yes! Boob-freeing is an excellent feeling. As is rolling your socks off using just your toes once you get into bed. I really want to take my socks off just now but I also want to save the experience for when I go to bed. What? I don't have many pleasures in life!

I was raised knowing that if I didn't take my shoes off at the door I'd be throttled. I still do it, but it keeps everything nice and clean. The entry way is kinda dirty though. I've since discovered the wonders of house slippers!

I like to lay on the floor and I don't want all the nastiness from outside on my face, arms, and stomach. I always imagine I might have stepped in some dude's loogie and now his germs are on my carpet.

I didn't realize how many people left their shoes on! Mine generally stay on my feet until I sit down and stay sitting for awhile. They usually wind up under the coffee table or my desk.

Shoes off at the door! Work shoes stay in the car and I change into a pair of slip on shoes. I work in a nursing home. Those shoes don't go anyplace near the inside of my home.

I guess I understand the shoe taking off if you have carpet...we have tiles in the kitchen and living room, though. Plus a dog. So I wind up sweeping often anyway. I take off my shoes if it's been raining, though.

Well, I picked the take off/leave by door option, but maybe a third of the time I'll leave my shoes around the house somewhere since I might try on outfits/shoe combinations and change my mind before I go out. But shoes are NEVER allowed into the bedroom, not even for storage reasons. That's one of my things...

I have an exception! If my shoes are slip ons I take them off as soon as possible. If they have laces I might keep them on because I'm that lazy.

I'm pretty much barefoot, braless, earring-less, ringless, watchless, necklace-less, anything strappy, dangling, confining, binding comes off immediately when I come through my door. I only wear socks in the house if my feet are especially cold.

I take them off as soon as I get home and leave them all over the house, so I'm always tripping over random shoes. I have hardwood floors in my living room and kitchen, carpet in my bedroom and some weird painted concrete stuff in the bathroom but I would take my shoes off regardless.

I usually never take my shoes off at other peoples houses unless they ask me to.

I really really hate not wearing a bra too. Maybe there's something wrong with me.

I take mine off near the door I guess, but sometimes I might leave them on for a bit and it doesn't bother me. Right now I'm sitting next to a pile of three different pairs.

I wear shoes pretty much always. If I'm not wearing actual shoes, I'm wearing chanclas. I just can't stand walking in my bare feet. I have this almost weird gag thing if I feel something. In the desert it's impossible not to have sand or dirt. Plus, I have two dogs and I'm always cleaning up hair.
