i guess i like it that, after the second time living here, i'm finally realizing that the city has more diversity to it than the already stark division between rich and poor.

what was/is your favorite companion animal?

My mom's current fluff, a tiny poodle/bouchon mix.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Up until I was about 14 or so I wanted to be a veterinarian, then I switched to forensic psychology (which is what I ended up going to school for).

Which month is your favourite?

March, partly because my birthday's in March, but mostly because I love the beginning of spring.

What's your favorite juice?

Sugarcane because it's delicious and reminds me of Miami.

Mac or PC and why?

PC- it's just what I'm used to, really, and I've never felt any real need to switch.

What was the last movie you saw?

When I was a kid, it was anything Donald Duck. I never watch cartoons anymore now.

What are you eating/did you eat for lunch today?

Well last night we had wine-braised seitan and beans and rice. It was delicious.

What book would you like to see made into a movie?

(Thank you for reviving this thread Joyfulgirl!)

I would like to see The House on Mango Street made into a movie. But only if done well, which might be possible, but would certainly be challenging. Oh, Oryx and Crake!

If you could choose any actor or actress to play you in a movie about you, who would you choose?

Hmm, I think Jennifer Laurence. There are very few actresses I actually recognize but she's one of them and also is awesome!

If you were forced to give up either vegetables or dessert, which would you choose?

Dessert! In the long run, I eat far more vegetables and enjoy them more than dessert.

Film or digital?

Digital! I'm an architecture student and it's mighty practical when working with architecture. Although I do have a slight romantic longing for the old days of everything slow.. But mostly I'm a pragmatist.

Definitely black! It goes with more of my outfits plus I wear black a lot.

If you could only eat one type of legume/bean for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?

Chickpeas! A day without chickpeas is a day without sunshine.

Are you doing anything special for Valentine's Day?

T and I are going to the store to pick out things for dinner and then make it together and spend a chill evening at home.

The Komodo Dragon, without doubt! I am very fascinated with how small, isolated islands have bizarre biological development.

What's your favorite building in the whole world and why? (link to picture, please!)

Smoothie, thats a great question, but I can only answer the favorite building I have been to, because I don't know about all the cool buildings in the world, and how would I know which is best if I haven't experienced them myself?

Currently my favorite building is the Detroit Masonic Temple, because I went to a rave there back in december, and I could not believe they let such an opulent palace type place be rented out for such debauchery. People were pretty respectful though, and it got a lot less trashed than other raves i've been to. It is 13 stories tall, with a ballroom on each floor. The contrast of the decadence of this building next to the rest of Detroit (which is beautiful, but sometimes in shambles) makes it even more spectacular. The main floor of this party was on a floor that had a sunken ballroom with marble steps down to it, and meter-thick columns interspersed in it. All marble and silver bathrooms, hardwood floors where they weren't marble, and a pool on the roof. You'd have to been there to imagine how memorable of an event, and how spectacular the design, but hopefully you can see from pictures, probably not get the full effect though. Also, there is a hidden upside down mason symbol along with all the right side up ones around, and I saw it! I won't spoil it by telling where it is.

I'm impatient and want to keep answering questions, so I'm just going to ask a question myself. We gotta keep it going!

Peanut butter! I am a five-year-old at heart.

What's your favourite blog that you follow? (Besides the PPK, of course!)

When I was a kid I was fascinated by the portrait of JFK where he is against a wall looking down. Still like it.

What's your favourite herb/spice to cook with?
