i used to hate reusable pads because the metal snap closure was super uncomfortable. (bye bye bicycle) but the underwear system is ingenious. straps built into the underwear instead of metal pieces, and you just slip the liner in. (but i can understand it if your flow is heavy enough to need a change midday while you're out of the house. that could get really awkward.) the instead is disposable, so there's no smelly bag with your liner stinking up your purse. and i guess it's not more environmentally unfriendly than a disposable pad. (after you take into consideration al the chemicals and absorbent gels and whatnot)
