Our flight was canceled early in the evening for tremendously stupid reasons. So I read all night. I was not bored.

My in-laws are watching teh toddler this weekend, my partner is at work, I have the night to myself and what do I do? I fall asleep at 11pm. I just woke up. So much for my awesome night alone. Feh.

Normally, I'd still be "awake from last night," too. Stupid sleep. Now I have to be awake during daylight hours, like a normal person. Quelle Horreur.

Shockingly not boring. After I escorted my sleepy/drunk roommate to a cab, I danced the night away with a random stranger, then proceeded to hang out with said stranger until about 4. He walked me to the train, and yet, neither of us asked for any contact info. Oops.

On my walk home from the L (like, nearly 20 blocks), I guess I was visibly "bouncin'" to what I was listening to (Dedication 2 Mixtape), this dude summons me over, puts one of my earbuds in his ear, then proceeds to freestyle rap, down Bedford ave, for about 20 minutes to what I was listening to.

It was a odd night of interesting strangers...

that sounds so romantic, and perfect.

My friend from Vancouver is in town so a bunch of us went out for friends reunion which included dinner and drinks at a restaurant and then hanging out at a friend's apartment downtown till the wee hours. Awesome time, I didn't get home till 2:00 a.m. (late for me) and woke up with a (mild) hangover for the first time in years. I woke up first at 6:00 a.m. feeling rough, dranks some liquids, read an entire, short novel written by a 70s TV writer and went back to sleep about 8:00 a.m. and slept till 10:00 a.m. Now I'm up drinking coffee, feeling better and thinking about going to the mall to get that waxed cotton jacket I saw last week that's 75% off...if it's still there and then maybe some lunch!

Am I a jerk if I say that mine wasn't boring? It often can be, but I got out for actuals.

I drank cheap beer @ the pizza place with my roommate who is leaving and some grad school friends, then bounced on over to another brewery pizza place and got free garlic fries with a ticket stub from the football game I didn't go to, and a pop they didn't charge me for, then we went to a dive bar that just so happened to be having a karaoke contest!

So, I entered and they couldn't decide the winner, so we split the $25 bar tab, and since I only had one cheap beer of which I gave away most of (since I was driving, but felt I should buy SOMETHING). So anyway, I had a fun night that actually only cost of $4.50 (WITH generous tipping considering the cost) after my $5 prize money, PLUS a free dive bar tshirt from the contest. I used to live within walking distance of this dive bar but noone EVER wanted to try them out and I'm sad we hadn't because it was an awesome dive bar.

"Winning" with Blister in the Sun= priceless.

It was lovely, but I just found out that the cab driver ended up groping my roommate on the way home THEN tried to charge her twice the normal fare. I feel like the worst roommate ever.

bumping my favorite thread.

My night might not be that boring - my cousin is spending the night and we'll hopefully get some tasty dinner. I'll see if I can talk her into vegetarian chinese... mmm!

Yeah, it does. Oh wait, that's 10 minutes away. And all I did today was buy catfood and clean the toilet. And then I get to get up and sit in the libbery all day tomorrow! Wahoo.
