Whoo! I won something!

Ok, so, only a teeshirt that I will probably never wear because I don't wear teeshirts. But, I've subscribed to Geotimes/Earth magazine for over 5 years and on a whim I entered the Where On Earth? contest a few months ago, and today a teeshirt arrived because I won. Ironically, this was the first and only time I've ever entered.

I feel special.

What has the talented and wonderful PPK won lately?

Is it an awesome t-shirt? I like getting pretty much anything in the mail, so I can understand getting excited about winning something you don't even really have use for.

Last month I won a vegan belt from Truthbelts, and I won a cute book from http://www.veganappetite.com/.
I never wear belts, but I've been trying to do it more often.

And I usually don't win stuff, so it was super exciting to win two things back to back in one month.

As teeshirts go, it's ok. It is a nice quality 100% cotton shirt and it has a geeky geology vibe going. I'll probably cut the collar out (I hate the high necks on teeshirts--they make me feel like I'm choking) and wear it around the house.

It just randomly arrived in the mail today, so I thought it was sort of cool.

I haven't won anything in quite a while. I'm pretty sure the last time I won something I was in second grade. My entire class had to enter a father's day drawing contest that was held by the local newspaper. I got 3rd place and won a $35 gift certificate to any place in the mall.
That $35 went to the best Littlest Pet Shop toys EVER!

Woo! I just won a poster from a band I only somewhat enjoy. A year ago, I supposedly won a soymilk machine, but I have yet to recieve it. Alas.

I've never one any real prizes, just some timeshare thing that if I sat through a 3 and a half hour "meeting," they'd give me a camera. ....I don't think that counts as winning.

I once came second in a colouring competition that my dad was judging. So much for nepotism, Dad.

Also my brother and I once wrote to a morning cartoon show and they read our letter on air and send us a box of miscellaneous shiitake they didn't want from their advertisers. So many toothbrushes and exceedingly large Animorphs t-shirts.

I usually only enter for movie or concert tickets. I won Kelis tickets the other day but the show started at midnight and I wasn't feeling great, so I passed them on to a friend.

I won a baking contest in 4th grade (blondies with marshmallow cream baked in), but didn't actually get anything for it. Maybe a ribbon, I can't remember.

I won a writing contest in 8th? 9th? grade. The essay I wrote sucked though, I'm pretty sure I was the only contestant.

I won a visa gift card at work (well, "earned" is more like it, but they called it a contest and called me a winner, so...) Between that and selling my old coffee table on craigslist, I got a bootiful new coffee table for $11.31 out of pocket.
