You've just said everything that I've always thought of while looking at these things. I love you.

Did I miss the part where Raspy denigrates women who choose to be homemakers? It’s almost as if they are saying, "I am SO righteously angry over this issue that I don't even have to read the post OR be logical!" Ha, I'm down with stay-at-home moms, stay-at-home dads, stay-at-home grandparents, whatever. I'm also down with working moms, dads, etc. Everybody should be able to make that choice, without being pressured into one role or another, and to not feel guilty for whatever choice they make. I know that's a totally radical notion. Blasphemy! You are going to undo the fabric of society with that kind of talk. The next thing you know little boys will want their toe nails painted pink and then no one will want to go to war! Exactly! What would happen to 'Murrica if we be couldn't be sure that there's always someone (specifically someone with a vagina) at home keeping the floors scrubbed and the diapers changed, hmmm? And where will the menfolk be when they get hungry and there's no one available to feed them by hand because the women are neglecting their natural functions by actually leaving the house on occasion? Riddle me that, Comrade!!

I just had to upgrade my photobucket account to pro because so many people have viewed the pics in the past few days. I skimmed through the comments and I'm really disappointed that no one has called me a feminazi yet. Come on people, step it up! I did like this one: Quote: If this woman saw a magazine from 1950 her head would explode. because I actually collect old magazines and ads from the 50s/60s.

How does your itty bitty feminazi brain cope with the cognitive dissonance? (You're welcome!)

Oh, I'm sorry. I can't handle such big words. I'm only a girl, you know. Better repeat that in words I can understand...like "mop", and "baby" and "pink".

Wow. According to them, I am Such. A. Failure. Because, you know, I'm NOT a Mom (deliberately, I might add, but then I guess I'm an intentional failure, and really, isn't that worse?).
Actually, this is something that bugs me about the way advertising has gone. You know those stupid ads on the side of websites: "{Insert location} mom discovers secret to whiter teeth (or wrinkles, or whatever else ripoff they're selling)." AS IF the whatever-it-is is more valid/special/worthy because it was discovered by a mom. /end rant.
But what a brilliant look at modern consumer culture, RC!

I want this to be booklet to be sent out in the mail like the coupon booklets. It'll have double the pages so you can have a page of commentary to every page of craziness.

Thank you so much for making me laugh like a maniac. My apartment is dirty, and I left my husband. Now I don't even feel guilty about it.

Did you notice that the women with the cookbooks had milk, cheese and eggs on the counter? Does it really take that many women to make an omelet? Why do they assume that every one eats this gross stuff?
