My apartment building was just purchased and all tenants must leave by the end of Dec. My roommate has a new place already and will be gone by the end of Nov. which means I have to leave then too or pay full rent for that Dec and I can't afford that. I can move at any point up til Nov.30 starting this weekend if something is available. Please pass along any places that you might know of. thanks.

Panda, I posted on FB and also have been looking at Lewis & Clark's websites, but nothing's come up yet. I saw a couple of things on PDX Craigslist that looked like possibilities--there is a communal house in Mt. Tabor not too far from you that looks decent. I continue to keep my eyes peeled.

I don't understand how the new owners can legally break the contract of existing leases. Panders, I hope you find a suitable place quickly.

The same thing happened to me, but our lease had converted to month-to-month following the initial year so we had no recourse. We were given the offer to buy our place for $250k. Without the renovations they were planning for the other apartments. what the fizzle.
