My husband and I are; we're very active in NW VEG. If a group of PPKers want to go, it would be easy to organize a table so all could eat together.

I have plans elsewhere but I've always heard such amazing things!

I'm also kind of wondering what it's like. What sort of dish is best to bring, are there a lot of families/kids there, etc.

I'm not part of the planning this year, but in the past they've divided registered attendees into categories (from 4 food groupings) for suggestions on what to bring. But that was optional; attendees could bring whatever they were excited to offer. Just bring a lot, as people tend to be gluttons more so than at other potlucks.
So people won't have to wait in line for long periods, volunteers will balance dishes among sets of serving tables, and seating tables will be assigned to go to a specific serving area first, and once everyone has been served, attendees are welcome to hit the other serving tables for seconds. People with young children tend to congregate together in one of the seating areas. But this is really diverse - for lots of people this is the only NW VEG event they'll attend this year.

NW VEG moved the potluck to Benson so as not to turn anyone away, but has sold out anyway - more than 350 registered! There is a wait list, so it may still be possible to get in.
