I want to get into biking here in Portland. Assuming I know nothing about bikes, does anyone have a recommendation for a good shop to head to that will help me figure out what I'd need? There are a lot of them in town and I don't know where to start. Thanks!

I just texted my friend who bikes, and he says A Better Cycle (23rd and Division) is worker owned and also 7 Corners on 21st and Powell.

Veloshop right downtown's all vegan, but the people who work there always struck me as kind of pretentious.
I don't live in Portland anymore, though; it might have changed.
