Hello! I've setup a page for Vegan Thanksgiving Events in Portland. It's at http://thanksgiving.vegantech.com
If you know of any other all vegetarian/vegan events or businesses that will open, please let me know and I'll add them to the list.

This is awesome. We did the Portobello day before Thanksgiving dinner last year, and it was stunning.

I am a little upset that I can't make it to the Portobello dinner! Silly family.

For the past few years, I've been lucky enough to score an invitation to an amazing potluck at the Buddhist monastery in Clatskanie. The drive is quite the over-the-river-and-through-the-woods experience, but it's been pretty impressive every time I've gone. A little singing, a little dancing, a LOT of food, and some of the nicest people ever, all in a converted 60s or 70s middle school, complete with gym, playground, industrial kitchen (of course), and nature walk.

Haven't decided whether I'm going this year, with Portobello calling to me so much closer to home.

Bay Leaf is closed this year. They're usually open.

People's Food Coop (an all veg coop) is giving away free vegan food baskets to anyone who deems themselves in need. See the http://thanksgiving.vegantech.com site for details.

It looks like they changed their mind. On their website it says "We Open on Thanksgiving day 3pm-9pm" (This wasn't there last week.)

The New Leaf (Raw) is offering meals for pickup Thanksgiving Day, order by Monday night.

Vegetarian House will be open normal hours (though no buffet.) They say it is one of their busiest days.

Northwest VEG's Compassionate Vegan Thanksgiving potluck (last Sunday) sold out at 270. I hope everyone who came had a good time! Next year we'll rent a bigger facility so we won't have to turn people away.
