Hello all you lovely ppk people!
I moved here recently from Maine and while I'm finding plenty of vegan deliciousness to eat, I haven't really made too many vegan friends yet and would really love to! I was wondering if you guys were aware of any vegan meetups or other various, interesting gatherings which would be good places to meet new people? I'm in my early twenties, have a greyhound and rabbit, and am interested in animal rights, feminism, and/or social activism of many types, if that helps/matters. Also if anyone had any "must see" Portland places or any suggestions at all really, I would really love to hear about them!
Thanks!

There is a vegan meet up group through meet up.com that seems to have a lot of events and stuff listed on their page. I have never been to any so I don't know how many people they draw but it might be worth looking into.

NW VEG is a vegan group with lots of activities and activism www.nwveg.org, plus hosts a vegan meet up: http://www.meetup.com/Viva-la-Vegan/. Metro Veggies is another meet up group - a mix of vegans and vegetarians.

IDA and FARM are both active in Portland, plus local groups TryVeganPDX and PAWA. And Kittee does a lot too!

I can't really help with Portland, but I just wanted to note that I have noticed your username and nodded knowingly.
