Anyone know anything about whether a person can visit the Tofurky factory in Hood River? I'm going to be there this weekend for some races, and I'm hoping I might be able to swing by the factory at some point. Relatedly, anyone have any food recommendations in Hood River? I'll probably bring most of my own stuff, but it's nice to know what my options are!

Hood River's super cute, and the views just east on the road to Mount Hood are mad gorgeous.

I haven't eaten at any of the restaurants in town, but Mother's Marketplace is a cute little health food store with a decent deli and a juice bar.

I had no idea the Tofurkey factory was there!

Yes, you can visit the Tofurky factory. They just held a grand opening for their new facility last weekend, check it out.

Full Sail has awesome vegan options (including a Tofurkey beer brat!), and I've always had good luck veganizing sandwiches at Celilo.

Are you sure it's open for visitors? I think they're still in the process of moving in, which they hadn't yet at the grand opening. You might want to contact them ahead of time. And I met the owners of Mothers at the Tofurky Dinner - they said the business was vegan, except that they just started carrying local eggs.....

I guess I assumed since they held the grand opening last weekend (which included tours of the facility) that they'd be open to the general public. You know what they say about assumptions, though...

We stopped at the factory and they couldn't give us a tour of the production area but they gave us a bunch of tofurkey swag/food.

The field roast factory in seattle, though, gave us a tour of all the production areas, vegan pizza from break room leftovers, and a TON of field roast. Yum. I calculated it out later and it was like $30 worth of field roast. I was eating it for weeks.
